The thing is, if I'm told Fox is as guilty as hell I'll be sceptical of that, and if I'm told he's innocent I'll be sceptical of that too.
I'm not defending either of these two characters, but at this stage he hasn't moved an inch and it's the devil in the detail that will lead to Fox's resignation, or what gets him kicked out of government.

Mr Cameron said: “A strong leader actually recognises you have to take time to get all the information, answer all the questions, and then actually make a decision.
“A weak leader is someone who jumps at it because of some artificial deadline. Let’s get the facts established and then make a decision.”
His comments suggest Dr Fox’s future rests on the report by Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O’Donnell, expected next week. But the remarks were seen as falling short of full support.

Fox should be instructed to resign to "clear his name". If he clears it he can come back.

Well that's me filled with confidence.“A weak leader is someone who jumps at it because of some artificial deadline. Let’s get the facts established and then make a decision.
Anyone who regularly reads Private Eye will remember Fox and the meeting with Harvery Boulter, boss of Porton Capital, where he said that they had not discussed a dispute between the firm and the US company 3M. Not to mention the knighthood, which was not, oh yes it was, mentioned.
If, as appears the case, Fox was telling porkies in his reply to the Guardian then all this scandal might not have been made public.
One interpretation, if the Eye's allegation is correct, is that the lie was there to cover up who else was at the meeting and had organised it all. And we all now know who that is.
The question most people would ask is: if there was nothing to hide, why hide it?
