I’m of the opinion, that when someone high profile passes, the first we know is the official word from their agent/family. Not social media rumour.

Do people remember in Nov17 in the annual R2 children in need call in what money cannot buy - well he had a special offering and made what £600-800k for x number of tickets to a special event this year.

Now what happen? People were bidding £80k for 2 tickets but to get zero .... that isn’t cricket and likewise the charity loses out

Clearly this whatever it is is very serious for him to walk away from that and unless those generous folk elect to donate those eye watering sums for zilch thenthe chaiety will be losing out.

If I fell asleep with my face on the keyboard it would make more sense than that.

If you Google Peter Kay ,there's a line on the results that says he passed away on the 15th March.

Obviously BS.

I don’t know if this is related but a lot of local newspaper sites have been running stories the past few days along the lines of “Peter Kay reveals the reason he cancelled his tour - star releases statement”, but when you open the story, it’s just the same story that published when he first cancelled the shows last year, and a link to the same press release as before. Nothing new is even mentioned. Yet the story is dated as current. It’s very odd.

Strange that nothing has leaked about his reasons for cancelling.

This is not actually news politics or Economics.

Getting the thread back on track.

What are the economic downsides or a Peter Kay tour being cancelled? Has anyone got an up to date spreadsheet, or even metrics, for the loss for the cancellation of this tour? Ideally this should have column GL finalised for the week ending Sunday 11th March (Gregorian calendar) but will be happy to accept any week mid February onwards.

Cheers. I await with even more baited breath than normal on this sad sack of a forum post. Go on, bait my breath you sad mofos

Or feck off forever. Twice.

You have a last orders bell?

Not sure what one of those is, still drinking merrily now. Please draw a diagram, perhaps using an Etch a Sketch.

You ain't getting served anything else, it's gone 4am.
The Etch-a-Sketch can have a short, if it drinks it promptly.

Likewise every few days I get a news feed saying Peter Kay has released thousands of extra tickets by adding new dates to his tour. Most recently yesterday. Cancelled the feed multiple times, but you can't argue with stupid it seems.

I’d assume if you can drop £80k for a couple of hours entertainment in the name of charity - you happy to do so.

Errr no.
Some who bid use their lifetime savings or a one off inheritance they are not wealthy people who can drop a £80k and meh to the outcome.

An auction is an auction charity or otherwise. These prizes are also unique - heck imagine if the super 7 those priceless Ferrari’s which you bid for and won to drive around for a very long weekend stay at amazing places thrash a la Ferrari round a race track drive up the goodwood festival of speed hill etc only to be told oh it’s cancelled never mind thank you for the £200k per person bid you made

The children in need charity auction Nov17 Peter Kay raised £650k odd for a special show he would be delivering for those lucky winners and bidders in Jul 2018.

I’m asking what happens - no event = no donation charity loses out. Would he let a minor issue keep him out of action or will Chris Evans organise a suitable equivalent event.

Is it that difficult to understand? Bid for something not going to get it want an update...
