Some small differences in culture id like to chime in with... Young Asian lads arent really the types to be going out clubbing, drinking or saving up for week long benders on Spanish islands or going out causing trouble at Football games and other things young males sometimes get involved with. Its also very normal for young Asians to stay living with the family well into 20s or even 30s. So a young man with a half decent job has a lot of disposable income and free time and that gets put into pastimes like fast cars.

And lets remember there are still thousands of young Asians who are petrolheads and enjoy their cars responsibly, just like you lot on Pistonheads.

Not always Asian either, heres 12 people charged with public nuisance offences over those 'Bike Life ride outs' that were all over the news recently...

The men charged are:

• Bradley Bateman, a 24-year-old warehouse worker from Lockin Croft in Castle Vale

• Nicholas Dore, a 27-year-old mechanic from Wardlow Road in Nechells

• Shaqeel Karim, a 23-year-old warehouse worker from Wallace Road in Oldbury

• Jack Bentley, a 24-year-old admin assistant from Marlborough Road, Castle Bromwich

• Samuel Ward, a 20-year-old student from West Heath in Oldbury

• John Mcdonald, a 27-year-old factory worker from Ridfield Road in Birmingham

• Joshua Birchall, a 19-year-old delivery worker from Chantry Crescent in Great Barr

• Jamie Boyden, a 28-year-old mechanic from Keats Road in Wolverhampton

• Jamie Bayliss, aged 26, from Camberly Grove in Erdington

• Dean Moore, a 39-year-old security worker from St Giles Road in Tile Cross

• Darren Brown, a 39-year-old groundsman from Morar Close in Castle Vale

• Unemployed 18-year-old Luke Fox from Dagnell Road in Birmingham

Six other men and a teenage lad have already appeared in court also charged with public nuisance relating to anti-social biking.

Adam Ballanger 24, from Partridge Road in Yardley and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, both admitted the charge at Birmingham Crown Court on December 8.

...not very Asian.
must be made up names
Everything is fine then, nothing to see here, eh?

Anyway, it's happened. Just a crying shame they had to ruin so many other people's lives while cleansing the gene pool.

How do we stop this?

We all knew when the accident was announced and the area that it happened in what the outcome would be, more police on the roads is the only way to prevent these st bags driving like tts, ever wondered where the bits from the stolen Golf R's end up or the seats from the car jacked RS4's?
These little scrotes have no respect for the law or others, maybe the "community leaders" down the old Mosque could sort it?

If there is a problem with a specific demographic, then those folk need to be targeted and stopped from doing anti social stuff, regardless of background, criminality and stupidity are not specific to any one group, it is a human trait.

Of course you can cite criminal behaviour from any group, perhaps start a thread if it concerns you, but the fact remains that people are noticing this as a growing trend, six people died, there have been numerous other incidents from what is a small, population wise group, six million British Asians or thereabouts, how many 17 to 30 year old males ? how many can afford an S3 or better, not huge numbers. This one was fairly local.

It isnt "cleansing the gene pool", regardless of doing something idiotic, its still someones son, brother, cousin etc who should have lived to a decent age, with a bit of education and curbing of being cocky show offs they may have survived. Hopefully this may resonate a bit and make young guys think that bouncing an RS whatever off the rev limiter in a urban area is probably not a good idea, you might impress teenage Instagram car spods but everyone else thinks "What a knob".

Thing is, it isnt an "Asian Community", it is communities, like any other group it has factions and sub groups, like you dont know every other white British person or necessarily identify or support how they do things. The Asian folk I know drive normal cars, normally and they dont really understand this much better than anyone else.

But, if those guys are actually practising Muslims that attend a Mosque, some input on the responsibilities and how the Koran/Allah would view it may have an effect, but am guessing the Koran doesnt have a Highway Code section.

Nor me. I'm not disputing there are elements who think they can live parallel to the rest of society and do as they like, but most of the second and third generation immigrants I know are at least as integrated as their parents, if not more so; they are British not just by nationality but also culture.
I broadly agree, but we need to be cautious about drawing conclusion like 'most' from a self selecting sample; an indigenous metropolitan person will be disproportionately familiar immigrants that integrate over those that don't.

The Leeds incident and others show city centre hooning is common with young men in general and we have a several serious late night crashes each year locally.

Flipping heck those pictures on Facebook that someone has posted are pretty grim, brings a new meaning to the old saying about putting clean underwear on in case you’re involved in an accident.

There must have been an enormous amount of energy disapated through all those vehicles.

Well, no, you weren't - since the figure you gave doesn't bear any resemblance to reality for the groups you're meaning.

Anyway, all the others you listed generally don't act like a bunch of s and generally have a good bash at integrating. Did you look at the images of the religious demographics and how they're spread, or not, throughout the city?

Who needs police accident investigators when you have Internet forum posters who can do the job in 10% of the time.

The figures are correct. 140,033 up to 234,411. I make that a 67.39% increase.

The preconceptions are usually proved right. If they're not, then I take it back and stand corrected.

That's a fair assessment and probably explains the disparity. In my locale, largish middle-eastern demographic. 9/10 times when I meet an aggressive driver (not just tailgating, we're talking about overtaking in a 30mph road at double that) it will be from that demographic. Only yesterday, nearly forced off into the kerb by a Mercedes who tried to overtake on a non-existent middle lane (but I didn't let him pass). Same demographic. I just don't notice the chavs from Morden because they will be driving badly in a clapped out Vauxhall, which won't have nearly enough bhp/tonne to try the same stunts.

Having spent 5 days in Hospital with my 7 year old boy due to a very serious virus in which he had to be put into an induced coma and the fear and worry that involves not knowing if he will live.
I have I say it must be really hard for people when they spread such a broad brush over 'Asian' men.
I am not some Leftie nor either am I an alt right.
But when I am in hospital with my son close to dying and there are Doctors and nurses all I see is people trying to help, I don't see the fact that most Doctors were Asian, when the Doctor is telling me my son is very ill but he's in the right place I didn't worry that this guy was Asian telling me that.
Do people who are so broad in condemnation of Asians go to hospital and refuse to be treated unless a white dude does it?

Genuinely interested. I think it must make life hard, do people simply never go out for a Curry or are those ones alright?
An idiot is and idiot, loads of idiots from all walks of life, but the other side there is still good people trying to simply do the right thing.
I don't think any race or nationality has perfect people as a whole, sts are everywhere, but they are just sts...
I see plenty of white people like me driving like tts everyday. But they are just that, tts.

Anyway.... condolences to the people involved in this.

+1

I think the stereotype arises partly because the most ethnically diverse areas tend to be inner cities, which also have a mixture of people falling out of pubs and clubs, people who drive round the area every day and get overconfident, and people who are completely lost.
So plenty of opportunities for them all to have accidents and/or upset each other.

I don't think the road is at all dangerous.

All it needs is for road users to drive within the speed limit. Wear seat belts and comply with The Highway Code.

What is your solution? Do we simply refuse to acknowledge that, around the Midlands, there is a seemingly disproportionate amount of young Asian men driving fast cars in a reckless manner? What good would that achieve?

Allow us to focus on the relevant fact that around the Midlands there are a disproportionate number of idiots driving in a reckless manner.
