(I can't take the credit for this - I saw it posted elsewhere.)
I was thinking not that far from Sean Connery in The Rock, just needs to grow his hair out a bit.

Assange's lawyer is saying that his client was arrested on a US extradition request. Oh dear, this isn’t going to end well for Assange.

Isn’t the point that he was trying to avoid the trumped up Swedish charges which were designed to get him extradited to USA and a life in supermax, so seems quite sensible.

But with Trump in charge, will what he faces in the US be a continuation of the show?

But Manning's back out on the streets already.

guaranteed to end up serving forever in a harsh jail treated like st but that's the price of spilling your governments secrets and is arguably a justified one

So everything a government does in the shadows is totally great and should be endorsed unknowingly by everyone?

I think he's a maggot and a lot of the stuff they did no doubt did some harm, but evil acts should be exposed.

What odds on him seeing the inside of a US prison in the not to distant future

Manning is actually back in prison - serving a short, one assumes, sentence for refusing to give further evidence to a secret grand jury in a WikiLeaks investigation.

Who said “Everything a government does in the shadows is totally great and should be endorsed by everyone ?”

I didn’t quite catch their name ?

Are you advocating this random attention seeker should be the arbiter of what is in the public domain ?

In so far as we are extraditing him to Sweden yes. What they do with him is up to them I guess!
Hasn’t the Swedish case been dropped? This arrest is because he broke bail conditionals relating to the Swedish case. But Swedish prosecutors are no longer pursuing that case.
Only because it expired under Swedish law, it doesn’t make him not guilty

If he has nothing to hide, why was he hiding in there for 7 years?

Hopefully justice can now be done.

Would you like to tell that to the two women who made the complaints?

And if you think the Swedish are apt to making st up at the behest of the Yanks you are sorely mistaken. They are the most liberal, wishy-washy lot in Europe and far too concerned with Human Rights than pandering to the US.
