Thanks La Liga, so in theory it could rumble on for a while if the family refuse to let it go, presumably right to the point the Attorny general says Fcuck off.

The facts will come out. So too will the true history of this individual. Who knows what the family’s motivation is. Could it be to deflect from their ‘business’ interests.

How do you mean?
Anyone who stops this will instantly be be branded as racist, all the usual suspects will be demanding their resignation and a few of his followers will probably hold a peaceful riot in the nearest town.

Who needs that to deal with when you can just let's it carry on regardless.
Regardless of what people think of the individual / family, it's important that when the state kills someone it's transparent and accountable.

The problem is when the family refuse to accept what they don't want to hear.

There's all sorts of appeals and routes for the different courts and processes that can make it last years as we've seen in the past.

Mark Duggan's family were still going through appeals as recently as last year (the incident occurred in 2011).

Jean Charles Menezes family were still going through legal appeals 10 years after. Although it's a lot easier to sympathise with them.

Has anyone actually got the balls to stop this nonsense?
The local newspaper coverage certainly isn’t helping. There seems to be an article every other day, each one giving Mr Yaqub a platform on which to criticise the Police and the IPCC, and to make spurious claims that he knows more about what went on than anyone else (how can he possibly?). Yet he has never been asked why his son was in a car with a gun, or what he thinks should happen to people in that situation. He’s played the race card, which as far as I’m concerned is wholly irrelevant.

However I think if turnout at the recent vigil is anything to go by, his support is dwindling.

Basically I think his hopes are hanging on doubts that the Police saw him reach into the footwell. He potentially thinks that the shooter was located in a position where he could not see clearly into the car, and that there were no other officers who had a clear view.

Instead of holding "Say no to racism" banners at anniversary wake, they'd have been better off holding "Say no to drug dealing" ones.
yes

or a " No to carrying guns" banner.

Race card still trumps all others.

They can't claim racism as the gun is black.

Family of Yassar Yaqub plan another vigil on M62 slip road

Link

Planned for between 5.45pm and 6.45pm on a Friday but this is only because of Ramadan apparently...

This sort of one-eyed denial attitude is ideal environment for criminals to operate.

Actually I hope the father keeps pursuing it rigourously. Then all his and his sons st will be laid bare in open court for everyone to see.

And anyone who had any doubt about what scum they are, will be relieved of their indecision.

Every weekend I drive past the flowers etc. Thankfully the big banners left there are taken down regularly.

With respect where do the family think the handgun came from? Do they think officers have unregistered handguns freely available ready to plant?

And don't forget their house was absolutely covered in CCTV cameras and security measures.

Nothing dubious there.

Birkby isn't that bad an area. It's surrounded by some really really nice bits of Huddersfield

I assumed his comment was tongue in cheek.

The house was like Fort Knox. Nothing innocent about it.

If it’s Ramadan - it should all be after dark smile

And I’m sure the victims choice of profession was ‘haram’ in any case

One thing I find interesting : working in the Gulf (Bahrain) - most of my team are from Pakistan ... all very smart and capable and easy to get on with ... how did the UK end up with the dregs?
