You 'mericans sure are clever. Especially when it comes to not answering questions. So which would you prefer? Me, I'd prefer not to have guns on the island. I'm not a leftie righty middley or anything. Just seems safer to me.
Explain why you think its safer?Edited by -Pete- on Monday 10th January 22:29

It's less likely you will kill someone with a coconut. Imagine if the Arizona nutter attacked the people outside safeway with coconuts? See the difference?

you are compairing apples with oranges[
I want you food I'm on an island and I want to kill you I'll just get you alone smack you around the head.
A gun is just a tool if you are a bad man and you want to do vilence you will do.
Ps I probably wouldnt kill you with a coconut id beat you and keep you as a slave.
But to be brutally honest with you all, this kind of thing doesn't happen in countries where gun ownership is tightly controlled. Politicians in the UK don't get killed because random 22 year old nutters don't agree with them. I'm not saying your way is right or wrong, but it's hard for people like me to understand the advantages - even if I might be a gun enthiusiast at heart.

Given that US society has chosen to accept a certain number of 'shooting incidents' as the price of its current gun laws, I wonder how many incidents it could tolerate before this acceptance is lost? One a month? One a week?
I'd say half a dozen concurrent 'Mumbai' style attacks by home grown 'clean shaven'/under the radar extremists on shopping malls/cinemas and hotels would soon change things. However let's hope we never have to see such a scenario.
you have a point but murders still happen and politicians still get attacked.
There have been a couple in the last few years. one Stabbing and one was attacked with a sword which left one man dead( I can link you if you missed that story). now imagine if this Guy had a gun he may still be alive today
obviously more damage and mayhem can be done against a group with a gun if the group is unarmed. And yes if teh guy in teh two cases above had a gun there would certainly be more fatalities.

This is going well. Anyway, my thoughts go out to the injured, the dead, and their families. Whatever's wrong, I hope some positive changes will come out of this.
That's what everyone hopes when some lunatic runs about shooting people but nothing ever happens. Seems like this time they're more interested in blaming the politicians and Palin for something much deeper rooted. We (Brits) seem to follow the good ol U S of A with everything, just like lemmings. Thankfully, the gun scenario still seems way off here.
What was telling in the sad incident was the woman grabbing the 'magazine' from the nutter, and others shouting to her 'get the magazine'.
If something similar happened here in Ol' Blighty and somebody shouted that, the woman would grab the nearest copy of 'Hello' or 'OK!' - which, thank God, as I said, means we are still a long way off the sad scenario of everyone owing firearms.

Better tell that to Mexico. They have very tight gun laws (non military calibres only up to .380 / 38 special, etc)- - - -
The culture is different in the UK (currently). HM subjects are more accustomed to placing their faith in the State to protect and defend them. It goes back centuries to feudal times. The feudal lords were simply replaced by parliamentary reps.
There is also the (imho) absurd notion that outlawing guns in some way makes one "more civilized" than those that do not outlaw guns. That's an indoctrinated philosophy foisted on the public. The truth is, governments don't want their citizens armed because governments want final authority over all things.
In other words - government doesn't trust you enough to allow you to be armed and they want to make damned sure that the plebs know their place...
...oh, and by the way, guns are pretty much outlawed in the UK. So, crims don't carry them any more, right? I mean, if guns are illegal and all....

Neither is a grip a stock, and "stock" does not mean grip.
I do not mean to nitpick, but improvement could be seen,
If we could bring ourselves to say exactly what we mean.
