I'm really looking forward to see how 'The Cheese Grater' turns out.

I attended a presentation on BIM for Buildoffsite at RIBA about 12 months ago and the architect gave a 60 minute talk through the design and construction techniques involved. I love the whole idea of a steel exo-skeleton (which will be the the tallest of its kind in the world) and the fact the building design was forced largely by the architects requirement to protect the view of St Paul's Cathedral from Fleet Street.

Exciting stuff biggrin

I walk past these buildings every day. Looks like the Pinnacle may be starting up again. There was some activity around the gates this morning. Will make a change from seeing a concrete stump every day.

From the wikipedia article...

In early December 2012, a settlement offered by Arab Investments to contractors Brookfield Multiplex paved the way for construction to resume "potentially very soon"

No chance... , I don't think they have the finance to build. and no one will give them it for a spec office block with no Prelet.

it will join the other lot waiting for prelets,

how much space is let in the heron or shard... not much

all that says is when the construction stopped as the developers ran out of cash they owed the builders 16m..

they have finally paid that.

doesn't solve the problem that they still have no more money, and the scheme is too expensive to build.

I'd be pretty pissed off if I'd bought tickets today...good view of the clouds though.

Same here. I think it would be best to give the first few days a miss, then just turn up on a good day and hope that there are tickets available. The first two days are fully booked(Feb 1st/2nd)but am sure the following days will see some thinning in the bookings.

I'm going on the 3rd in the afternoon, however I've just noticed on Facebook I have a friend that's up the top today. Git.

No idea if this will work:

What a great view of straight back down from where you started...I guess a picture of a wall of cloud wouldn't be anything to post on Facebook though wink
