What a great view of straight back down from where you started...I guess a picture of a wall of cloud wouldn't be anything to post on Facebook though wink
hehe

I just hope the weather is nice for us when we go up on the 3rd Feb.

All are welcome...well...when I say 'ALL'...

Yeah Mickk. He's directing that last comment at you matey. Back off and let the pros do a proper job for im. Though, I dunno when I'll be able to spare the time to get over there. What with my other commitments and all that stuff.

Blib! Blib! There's rush fella, no really...the buildings gonna be around for hundreds of years.

Take your time chap, make sure you've saved up and bought all of the technical gadgetry your level of expertise demands before rushing headlong down to the riverside. yes

And should that take...what...5, 10...even 15 years then we'll wait...oh yes...you simply can't rush a potential masterpiece my friend.

I thought it was Mrs Blib that took all the Shard pics and Blib just edits them and adds the arty look for that spectacular effect.

So I went back for a look in the snow yesterday. Through the airport style security and up 2 high speed lifts to L68. The coffee shop not opened yet. Up to L69.

^ L69 enclosed viewing area

^ they will by trying to flog cuddly toy foxes in the shop

^ went for another high level piss. Not much to see with yesterday's snow.

^ reclad on guys hospital well under way

^ the point & zoom viewers on L69. They are pretty cool. When there's nothing to see like yesterday you can choose a prerecorded point and zoom for day & night Views

^ enclosed viewing area

^ the open viewing area on L72.

Still plenty to do but its nearly there. The prices will be £29.95 for adult prebooked or £100 for just turning up. That seems steep but I suppose time & demand will tell.

Is that last sentence a joke?

£100 for a turn up viewing?

Surely that turn-up cost is a typo?

You can get a 30min helicopter flight over London for that!!

The pricing advertised yesterday for prebooked at a timed slot;

Adult 16+ £29.95
child up to 16 £23.95 (if I remember correctly)
Under 3 free

Or

Just Turn up pay £100 and bypass waiting in cues & waiting to get through security etc.

It could be a VIP type thing where they throw in free stuff etc, I don't know, I didn't ask them about it. It just said something along the lines "turn up on day price/ instant access £100"

It looks really cool but 30 pounds per adult is IMHO too much. I pay less to go to the Royal Opera House!

And 100 quid for a turn-up viewing...seriously?

Prebooked: £24.95 - clearly says you avoid queues.
Unbooked (limited availability): £29.95

In other London building news, the "Scalpel" (why have they started insisting on giving every building a stupid name these days?) has been approved:

It officially falls into the category of High Rise at between 100-199m/300-649ft tall with Skyscraper classifiaction needing to be between 200-299m/650-999ft tall.

It would be nice to have another true 'Supertall' (300m/1,000 ft tall) somewhere in London.

So when you take a leak, how long does it take to reach street level?
