Had me going initially a few days ago as well. Then I saw it zoom in and out. Zoomed out stable of course. Look at number 1 when the streams are uo, rock solid and they are in the same location I think.Been some really wobbly pictures as well. Expect it is not easy to get a stable link from there.

Now I see it in daylight, it looks like it is at a fairly high magnification.
Aye, look at Camera 1 and I am pretty sure that is the main volcano in the background, the exposure sometimes makes it awkward to see, it is a glacier after all with all its reflective properties. For now........
Icelandic authorities have started putting out ads about what to do in a disaster.

It doesn't mean the big bang is coming, but I think it means they are becoming more concerned!

More pics here - good enough quality for desktop backgrounds

There was a big cluster of quakes in the caldera last night. 7 quakes over magnitude 3 but 10 over mag 2. Nothing too interesting except they were all grouped extremely close together time wise (less than an hour - resolution on the github link only does to the hour so they could have all been much closer than an hour)
Anything else of note happen?

The ground is rising (slowly) around the fissures - this is because more magma arriving underground than being released. Doesn't bode well for the main volcano, and the rifts are growing in the area leading to a higher chance of further fissures.SO2 pollution in Eastern Iceland is smashing records, it's very dangerous now. Authorities are warning people to switch on their heating to create positive pressure and keep the pollution out of homes.
All from here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/09/12/1329404/-...
ETA - a few minor quakes further NE than I've seen before, in my untrained eye leading to the assumption the magma pressure in the dike is higher than before.

Some of these pics are truly apocalyptic, especially when realising that this thing is as yet merely 'growling' for want of a more technical term.
It makes one appreciate that, although we may be quite technically advanced in human terms, we are a mere insignificance in the face of Mother Nature.
Scary.

M4.0 quake 500m from the surface of the caldera has just raised the caldera by 10-15cm: http://brunnur.vedur.is/pub/vatnavakt/bardarbunga/
That can't be good!
However, only one crater in the fissure is now active, so things are quietening down there.

The footage of the Japanese tsunami last night on C4 had me thinking the same.It makes one appreciate that, although we may be quite technically advanced in human terms, we are a mere insignificance in the face of Mother Nature.
