Horrible man. The woman must have been terrified,

Surprised the DM article left the suspended sentence and driving ban info until the very end. That would have been better placed earlier in the text as a deterrent to so many other road ragers in future.

(I’m originally from Bournemouth. The increase in (sexual) assaults and, last night, 2 stabbings (1 death) on the beach makes it a very sad place to read about.)

Especially when we remember what it used to be like.

Whats crazy is the people who go around physically assaulting people causing lasting physical harm - like that case on here the other day of the woman who glassed the bloke in a pub in Manchester for guessing her age wrong - and only got a suspended sentence.

Yet this guy will probably go to prison?

Did I miss something?
Swap the sexes around. Imagine it was a bloke who'd 'glassed' a woman for guessing his age wrong, and a woman who'd got out of her car and raged at a bloke who had been sounding his horn at her.

I wonder whether you'd get the same result... scratchchin

Happened to me a couple of times, both middle aged well off looking ladies. Well the language wasn't the language a lady would use "fk off you fking immature prick I'll fking not stop next time"

Incredulous.

Misogynist little wker. Hopefully he learns a lesson - but you don't get on like that without the problem being buried deep within you.
Should have been locked up.

Yes, that will hurt.

Can't say he's well suited to driving, though.

I don't know what sentencing guidelines are for this kind of offence?

I wouldn't have had an issue if he got a custodial but I think I can see why he wasn't given he's been hit with several different sanctions.

The main thing is hopefully he won't be doing that again.

I just find it incredible that a bloke would behave like that to a woman.

One of the quotes from the article is Abbott said he regretted his part in the incident, but claimed the media coverage of the case had 'destroyed' his professional career

I think there's some decent weight in that. He's a self-employed translator doing documents only. Presumably someone like that would have a handful of clients giving him a steady stream of work. I can imagine that some of those will just kick him to the kerb, I know I would if I was using him. Other translators are available.

I think he'll learn a harsh lesson from this. 18 months of not driving for someone who lives alone and is claiming isolation caused him to lose his rag will properly hurt. Losing a load of work will double down on that.

Indeed. You wouldn't choose to be him. She had 5 minutes of him, he has to live with himself 24/7. Hopefully the anger management will work.
Prison would have been a ridiculous waste of resource while people who cause actual physical harm are not sent there.
