Judging by the smug grins of his relatives arriving at the announcement venue it's a done deal.
I think that may be the natural expression of the Johnson clan.
True dat.

I suspect that will bring about a GE which will offer some hope of producing a government or coalition with a sufficient majority to get things done.
I think that’s the only option now since no deal is apparently going to be stopped by parliament and there’s no appetite for another referendum.
One thing I'm unclear about is how Parliament actually stop no deal. As I understand things, that's the default, so what would the process be to to enact legislation to revoke A50 or force an extension?

This is not the same as May bringing a deal to Parliament and it requiring their approval. Boris doesn't need to bring no deal to Parliament as a proposal to be voted on. They've already voted for it in the Withdrawal Act, no?
There’s a few options, outlined here.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-politics-4851974...
  1. = relies on the PM/Govt
  2. = voting themselves out of jobs and doesn't inherently prevent no deal
  3. = pointless.
  4. = is a pre-requisite for some of the other options, not an option in and of itself
Those are pitiful options given the narrative. Parliament seem increasingly powerless to overrule a no deal Govt/PM.

Can't they just take the PM down with a vote of confidence?
