we seem to end up with student political activists from a minor parochial university running the show.
Not to mention the fact we have MSPs whose main qualification was that they got on the list because of a self declared disability or because of their non white skin colour. No offence but I want the best MSPs to do the job, no matter, the party. Not someone who got in because they were diabetic, had Tourettes, or were dusky.https://wingsoverscotland.com/the-death-wish/
For example Emma Harper ousted Joan MacAlpinebecause her diabetes got her ahead on the list.

A long read for anyone interested in the ferry scandal and how we got here. Including the history of Calmac.

I read that when the issue came out; needs an update to focus on the calamity that's continued at the yard and beyond since then!https://www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v44/n18/ian-jack/c...
I can't see anything happening till next week, although behind the scene's there will be a fair bit of "manuvering" going on and damage limitaion speeches being written if and when Dumza falls on his sword or gets the heave-ho from the party.
I'am surprised he's not jumped on a plane to go visit his "friends in Turkey" for advice.

Forbes is already sharpening the sword for him. I'am surprised he's not jumped on a plane to go visit his "friends in Turkey" for advice.

Ironically I was walking my dog round the New Town at lunchtime and a helicopter passed over slowly; my imagination took over and for a minute I thought Yousaf might have planned a Ceaușescu style departure from Bute House, but the helicopter kept going sadly.tim0409 said:

If you had of been correct, could you have contained your excitement all the way through to Christmas Day though?105.4 said:

As much as I think Yousaf is a bumbling buffoon, I don’t think we need go that far. Exiled to a small Scottish island with an unreliable Calmac ferry service would suffice.

Even if the soon to be ex-First Minister was exiled to the Isle of Soay, (population: 1), he’d only end up fecking that up as well.Exiled to a small Scottish island with an unreliable Calmac ferry service would suffice.

Kate Forbes maybe better than Yousaf, but she is still full of nonsense…in that article she states “Geographically perhaps Scotland is small, but our ideas can make it one of the biggest places on earth”.https://www.thenational.scot/politics/24282581.kat...
It is this type of Scottish exceptionalism (drivel) that has led us to the sorry pass we have reached today.

No need to claim expenses for a flight to Turkey. He was in Cupar today and was being interviewed right in front of the Turkish Barbers. I'am surprised he's not jumped on a plane to go visit his "friends in Turkey" for advice.

The Greens fighting amongst themselves like rats in a sack. I always thought they were out of touch but this quote sums them up.
"The public will be shocked to learn this about the party,” one said. “Most think we’re this nice bunch."
Er.... Nope.
