Very interesting.

My favourite section, “conservatives are intrinsically aspirational and optimistic and the Labour Party is really none of those things”. Says it all really smile
It does, despite whatever it will be, better to approach with gusto and optimism than crying in the soup.

Yet as mentioned, clearly Labour do not read, many mentions made of other works which have told similar parts of the impending story. Latest email from Matt is a lulu.

Meanwhile Becky Wrong-Daily preferring to threaten to rule with a rod of Stalin iron. Presumably Johnsonites will be sent to build an extension of the M56 across the Pennines in a version of the Russian Road of Bones also the M56 coincidentally.

Matthew Goodwin was fascinating.

The interviewers - on the rare moments they interjected - less so.

The guy on the right was quite smart, but his mate in the light grey top appeared to be an utter clown.

They're comedians, it's what they do?

It's a long interview of >1hour from Trigger Nometry but well worth the effort. Why Labour lost the election and suggesting that basically ideas have left the building it having developed far too quickly into a 'who's the new leader' debate yet they don't even have the thinkers to get themselves out of the mess.

Early on an amusing anecdote about the different reactions to the presentation of an academic paper firstly to Ed Miliband's crew and later the same day to Lynton Crosby. Also covers other areas away from just the UK picture.

A seasonal gift to NP&E for when you're flagging after too much turkey. Best Wishes to All, even slasher whoever he is now.
"Ideas have left the building "

To me that seems to sum up Labours current position, they so desperately need a new thought leader at the helm!

A good read - there's a quote or three worth mining at that link.

Snips from the article said:
Many of us have experienced first-hand the hostility of woke activists who viciously attack and bully anyone who challenges their intersectional creed. A similar mindset can be found among the kind of Corbynistas and pro-EU fanatics who consider dissent to be a form of malevolence.
...
Then there were the anti-democracy protests in London, where one plummy-voiced young woman wished Boris Johnson ‘a horrible death’ before suggesting that it was ‘disgusting’ to see working-class people support him. Many of her associates carried ‘Not My Prime Minister’ placards, which again illustrates perfectly the woke tendency to favour wishful thinking over material reality.
...
Rather than give them pause to reconsider their flawed proposition, they assume that it must mean they were right all along. Through this circular reasoning, the delusions of the woke are nourished, and the outcomes that they fear the most are doomed to recur.
You'd never suspect any of that based on PH experiences...

I want to be British, I'm so lucky to have been born in England but I'm torn, really torn, why are people trying to tell us that we're the lowest of the low, Tory scum, only out for themselves?

It's nonsense.
Who is stopping you from being "British"? Is there something illegal about your definition of "British" which makes it somehow prohibited?

It's a bit cryptic isn't it.

Like there are things that are "British" that people desperately want to do but can't do confused

Do I really have to spell it out? No one but me is 'stopping me'.

IIRC you are not white, perhaps even Muslim I think. Well the chickens have come home to roost, and by the same virtue of seeing white english men chanting monkey calls to a few lads booting a ball around, I feel ashamed that the society I love is still at this level.

I've traveled all over the world (the only continent I haven't been to is Greenland) and at every place I've always tried to be a polite, considerate and accommodating and respecting the norms of the culture I was embraced in.

Then some stupid tt get's his name all over the news for monkey chanting at a soccer match. It's a disgrace, and it bothers me, and it embarrasses me and for some reason makes me very nervous about saying I'm British.

I worked for a week in Argentina and I didn't manage to get chased out of the Country like Clarkson, May & Hammond. I made friends there. I've been to Texas many times and the same.

It's becoming embarrassing on the world stage to say you're British.

Hope that explains my feelings a little.

It's not what he meant, but a couple of extreme examples...

I wouldn't want to be around you if you chose to fly the Union Flag in West Belfast or outside Parkhead when Celtic are at home.

I think Jeremy should stay. He may have lost two elections but as he said he won the argument. He only lost because of the Tory press. One more push, a few more bribes, I mean investment promises, and he will be PM in 2024. Or 2029. 2034 at the very latest.

Correct, even if it was an attempt (failed) at humour.

Corbyn and his team offer an improved life for the Many not the Few.
Corbyn and team offer a fair Britain, Corbyn and team offer a safe Briton, a diverse Briton, a Briton where colour, creed, religion or class are treated "as one".
To do this we need to select a Woman from an all woman shortlist.

Yes, it's funny how the party for the many is the only major UK party not to have had a female leader.

Dianne Abbott for PM!!!!
