I'm sorry but the Labour conference trounced this one in almost every way and thats from somebody who won't be voting Labour.

Not sure about that. Both have been a series of disingenuous politicians making promises they won't keep and with not a rational, worthwhile proposal between them.

Sad thing about that the disarray in the Tory party is that Labour will likely win the next election and take the Country into economic decline and levels of poverty unseen for a long time. And the effects of those will be with us for decades, if not generations.

So the big speech to save her career, her chance to show authority and leadership; and it went from one disaster to the next.

Much like the UK under May.
other than the media who said it was a speech to save her career. I would imagine most people in the Party did not expect a barnstorming performance .I didn't watch it but I expect she stumbled her way through and looked like she would rather be somewhere else.
Even in one on one tv interviews she looks terrible nervous.

Painful to watch. The P45 stunt seems to have removed any confidence she had left.
In fairness, she handled that pretty well
Agreed gone up in my estimation (must have recognised him as a non threatening 'comedian') quickly take paper put it down & carry on, we have all seen in other 'passive confrontations' subject behaves badly & is heavily criticised for not handling situation well. I think i detected she had a wry smile & repressed half laugh, (this is funny but i can't acknowledge). look about her.

Professionally handled by security. Imagine the yanks handling that, comedian tazered, beaten, handcuffed & dragged away in as violent manhandled fashion as possible.

i don't vote tory because of their presentation skills. i made that mistake with tony blair. if you base decisions on how they can orate from a podium at a conference then thats your choice but watching this at work with silent audio it was much more important to me what she said not how it was said.

i thought the points PM may raised were reflective and she can have another pop at doing a better speech next year.

the announcement on social housing was sorely needed and marks a change of direction which is 13 years too late.
I agree with you to some extent.

But convincing people of your ideas and being able to offer leadership to the nation is also required skills for a politician.

You can be a good advisor, journalist etc without these skills but there are required in a top politician.

I don't think being able to deliver a decent speech and carry out a media interview is that high a bar to clear to be honest. Being a politician with ideas and convictions doesn't preclude you from possessing these skills.

Promises to build Council Houses! Maggie will be turning in her grave.

Thats going to upset a great deal of the home-owning public, the Tory base.
I don't think it will, I think most people in this country understand we have a major housing supply issue that requires solving.

Right at the beginning of this whole brexit farce i said that it would rip apart and damage the party for a generation.

The tory grandees know this and are desperate to use may to deflect any incoming from the whole process.

as soon as it is all concluded she will be discarded and blamed

I quite pity her she wont go down as one of the parties most successful leaders

I know she does not enjoy speaking in Public like this but if she would just slow down take a breath pause now and again she might actually start to enjoy it as it is I find myself holding my breath waiting for her to stumble over words.

We do, but £2bn isn't going to fix it.

I understand this is just a top up of a previously announced policy where £7bn was to be spent over 5 years.

Well it can't be for their progressive policies or their track record on delivering them, which begs the question, why on earth do you vote Tory?

Of course. When you look at it, David Cameron resigned and ran out of a side door. Teresa May miscalculated by calling a General Election, to lose a majority.

That's in the past. But one thing for the future-I DO NOT want Boris Johnston as Prime Minister.

Serious questions need to be asked about security.
Do they?

They locked down the venue weeks before hand, searched it prior to the event and searched people going in. So event of a bomb exploding is low.

Once someone gets in with a pass and sits at the front. You can't expect security to not allow him to standup, get in a few words and wave a piece of paper during a speech.
Why not. When she (or any other politician is speaking) anyone approaching the stage needs to be stopped.

What's the alternative?

Are you forgetting the reduction in inequality since they came to power?

Can the Government lawfully cap energy prices?

I thought we had a free market.
It won't affect anyone who shops around or goes for a fixed rate deal. Its for people too lazy to get off their supplier's variable rate.

Seems a bit pointless, chasing after the people who are too lazy to spend a few seconds to save a few hundred quid, I'm sure they'll be straight down the polling station to vote...

I heard on BBC Radio, this "comedian"nuts has been charged with a "breach of the peace". Realistically, he should be charged for impersonating a comedian.
