Its not explaining what he means, its a political ambulance placed at the bottom of a cliff.

He means what he says, because he's stupid and ignorant and doesnt have speech writers.

No one else seems to agree and it takes days of spin doctoring to come up with some crap to deflect the issue.
I agree. I should have pit the word "explaining" in parentheses.

It is noticeable that he has been off Twitter since the infamous wire tapping outburst the weekend before last.

Is he being sat on?

"Spicer said Trump wasn't referring to wiretapping when he tweeted about wiretapping"

banghead

So basically Trump can say anything and mean absolutely anything but unlikely what he actually said.
Yep.
It is staggering that the White House is now saying that when the President of the United States of America said he was wire tapped by Obama he didn't mean wire tapped and he didn't mean Obama...and as for Kellyanne Conway and microwaves that turn into cameras - could someone tell her that Transformers was not a documentary, please? She really does give the impression that she's not playing with a full deck.

When you need a dozen people to have to explain what the leader ACTUALLY meant, then you have a problem.

(Not unlike Jeremy Corbyn actually).

Being serious, what will happen if this guy has to attend any really important meetings with other world leaders?

My hunch is that they will make him sit in the corner with an iPhone so he can twitter to his heart's content whilst the grown ups can get on with the serious business
I've said the same thing about Corbyn, if he ever gained power.

Can you imagine him in with with Putin and Merkel? They would chew him up and spit him out.

I think Trump would at least put up a bit of a fight before flouncing.

Part of the problem with this tapping claim is the staffers had to dodge the questions early on when the tapping claim was first tweeted, they got out the way of the questions. And the claims were very much aimed at Obama, read them again.

Now the staffers are modifying the meaning. They could have done that at the start but I expect that the spin was not up to speed. Especially with the potential it had for more serious troubles.

If you want to get conspiratorial. Did he get preview of the wiki leaks and contents from insiders. And that kicked him off. 7 March release from wiki, 5th March President made the claim.

I still think that information gleamed that certain contact was there before the election was from Russian sources being intercepted and catching out GOP activists unintentionally (or not.... wink ). Of course this is my supposition based on watching the press and timelines.

Kellyanne Conway, live, on film, on the subject of how Obama could have bugged Trump: "Microwaves that turn into cameras, et cetera. So we know that that is just a fact of modern life".

To which the interviewer responds, apparently without irony: "Sure, yeah".

What. The. fk?

How anyone can defend this incompetent and bumbling clusterfk is really beyond me.

I hope this is incredibly smart diversion politics. People this incompetent can't be trusted with this much power, can they?

You realise that tirelessly repeating the same things without understanding what they mean loses any tiny impact it may have had when somebody has already satirised you a few posts above? hehe

He doesn't. Many triggered progressive types in this thread choose to double down when confronted with evidence that challenges their beliefs. Their other options are to reject the existing belief, or to make it conform to the challenging one. The latter two responses never seem to occur, ofc. smile

Instead we get ranting, raving, emotionally unhinged responses. A clear sign that one cannot accept reality, and is choosing to double down on the fantasy du jour.

I gave a very clear cut example some time ago. A good recent one is Trump's appointment of openly gay Richard Grenell to a top position, and the reaction among those who irrationally believe Trump is anti-gay.

We see new examples practically every day. smile
