How’s magic Rishi paying for all of this?
I suspect if Labour were spending on this scale, this thread would be on fire.
Ironic one of the reasons they won the election was they weren’t going to spend like Labour was intending to. Utter joke.
Someone’s been asleep for the last year or so

Not locked the country up like this in the first place.

I presume you've not seen what is going on in the world at the moment then.

There is a pandemic, they rightly so, had to adjust spend

They haven't. Labour would have spent far more. They would not only have had to spend the same amount to keep the economy going but they would have doubled it to pay for all their re-nationalization plans.

Nobody is arguing about that.

Again, how are the hundreds of billions going to be repaid if not large sustained tax increases?

No increases for income tax thresholds for 2020/21.

All those Tax Codes issued recently will have to be cancelled smile

Doesn't kick in until 2023.

Plenty of time to fudge the numbers and shift operations out of the UK.

Same way any government would have got the money back, through tax increases. Doesn't matter who was at the helm. You can't avoid the inevitable. I didn't agree with the lockdown, but clearly the majority did.

Small profits (under £50,000) Corporation Tax stays at 19%.

Profits over £250,000 it goes up to 25%.

Marginal rates will apply on a sliding scale between £50,000 and £250,000 (just like the old days).

Told the elderly and vulnerable to take whatever precautions they deemed fit to protect themselves.

Allowed the fit and healthy population to continue life as normal whilst taking sensible precautions, hand washing, reasonable social distancing etc.

Economy then wouldn't have been impacted to this extent and we wouldn't be seeing £2.1 trillion net public sector debt.

As for the irony of Sunak saying he wants to be honest hehe

Indeed. Labour planned to fk the economy regardless. Their chancellor wanted to bring down capitalism and rejoiced at the financial crisis.
