Seems sensible to have another referendum once we know the facts?

I thought the soundbite of 'hard brexit' was annoying, now it seems that 'extreme brexit' is the statement of the left. What happened to just using brexit. No one knows if its soft, hard or extreme.

Anyone who thinks offering another referendum on the deal is a lunatic, it provides no incentive to the EU to work towards a deal that works for both parties, it's a massive gamble.

EU - This is the deal we will offer you, its st.
UK referendum - We reject the st deal
EU - Tough titty, stay in then
UK electorate - fk off, WTO it is
EU and Lib Dums - Oh fk, we didn't expect that, we are screwed

What we currently have is

EU - this is our start position, its st
UK government - fk off, WTO it is
EU - OK, lets talk
UK government - indeed lets try and come up with a workable solution
EU and UK government - This is the best deal we can come to for all the people of Europe, lets give it a go.

or possibly

EU - this is our start position, its st
UK government - fk off, WTO it is
EU - OK, we wont budge because we don't give a stuff about the people of Europe, the political project is more important
UK government - OK, WTO it is, screw you, prepare for pain on both sides, Ireland is dead.
EU - oh fk, the project is screwed

If you want to increase the chance of having a bad deal for both sides, do what the Lib Dems propose.

This is all assuming the Euro hasn't imploded by then during the Italian elections.

I had a scan through the manifesto, EU vote aside I think it's a solid effort. It's miles ahead of the labour one. It's not stuffed full of nonsense and most of the things in there I think are fair enough.

yep, the reality is that if we have a referendum on the deal (which is most likely going to be non-existent or absolutely ste) then people will reject it

I had a pop-up on my laptop yesterday asking me to take the time to answer a survey for Tim someone or rather (turns out he's some sort of Lib Dum head honcho); I answered truthfully, I'm sure they will be quite shocked at my position on their policies and this Tim guy.

I agree, brexit policy aside, I like the policies. No nasty spiteful attacks on 'rich' like the Labour hogwash. But sensible ones- the council tax on second homes is very justified I think. It targets the rich and where this housing could otherwise be going to local people, seems fair to me.

I also like the extra NHS tax. If we all want good care, we all need to pay for it.

Oh, and we are all going to be high!

rolleyes Paying for it is one thing - having it squandered on an inefficient behemoth of an outdated dinosaur is another thing all together. What other twaddle did the ginger one & his mob cook up for their manifesto?

Things I liked:

- focus on education
- council tax levy on 2nd homes / buy-to-leave properties
- target abuse of zero hour contracts, rather than removing them altogether
- UK wide fibre broadband
- take over Govia Thameslink service (it's my line and it can't possibly be worse than it already is)

Things I didn't like:

- stance on Brexit
- uber-focus on renewable energy
- apparent open-door migration policy

Maybe, but I was disappointed tories have gone back to the 10's of thousands figure. The right of the tory party does seem to be getting its way more and more.

I am all for a sensible, controlled immigration policy.

But I honestly believe we need quote a bit of immigration to service the NHS, London, service industries and to help fund the baby boomers in retirement.

Agreed.

However, as it always my stance, despite my massive sympathy for their plight, importing tens of thousands of refugees to a relatively small island with an already creaking infrastructure is not a compelling vote winner for me.

In the short to medium term post Brexit, a net figure of just shut of 100k feels reasonable.

Would help drive a bit of wage inflation without making life too difficult for growth.

The arrogance of getting a remain vote as a given was hilarious, both here and with the likes of Clegg & Co. Reading again the pre referendum comments here is good for a giggle from those who expected to get out of bed the morning after the vote and hit PH and gloat.
