I'm not anti-vax, I just won't benefit from this particular vaccine. I also don't have the seasonal flu jab as I don't need it. In a number of years I'll benefit from it and then I'll have it.

Why aren't you having the seasonal flu jab if your reason is altruism?
You may or may not benefit from a jab, although its a risky bet as plenty of youngish people have suffered organ damage (lungs mainly) after catching it. But its your friends and relatives (young or old) who stand to benefit. as you couldnt pass it on after the jab.
That is simply not true.
Yup.

So let's expand on this. The Karen's are going to be shoving their way to the front of the queue for a jab they don't really need thereby depriving those who would actually benefit from it. Protect the vulnerable...

We're not going to go from no vaccine to having 66 million shots suddenly available are we?
And to bring it back in a bit, we all know people who have had the winter flu shot annually and have still got the flu.

If the vaccine passes all the tests by Octoberish, SKB thinks its possible to jab the bulk of the population by EOY. Remember production started some time ago.

So they started mass producing a vaccine that has not passed all the tests?

66 million doctors appointments. That's going to be some interesting logistics as they're currently doing primarily video and telephone consultations. I can't see a problem here at all

In the US over the last 30 years on average 43 people per year die from lightning strikes. How many in the US who are under 44 have died this year from Covid?

Let me tell you...it’s 610 or 4% of the deaths.

That's handy. Using your figures 610 have died from Covid and 1290 people have died from lightning strikes. There is indeed a lot of misinformation out there.
You’re comparing 30 years with 3 months rofl

Try extrapolating an unvaccinated 30 years @ 610 per year and then compare which is more likely to kill you.

That about sums up the anti-vaxxer mindset.

I DO have the seasonal flu jab every single year.

Then you should probably have this one too. I don't currently need it, it's of no benefit to me whatsoever.

We were taught the Green Cross Code at school, and still one of my classmates was run over and killed. Clearly not worth teaching kids to cross the road.

I suppose we could have telephone inoculations? DIY?

I hate to break this to you, but lockdown has pretty much closed the NHS for elective procedures.

How long until it sinks in that doing stupid things in front of camera can lead to unemployment? There has been so many cases lately that it should be clear to anyone what end result will be yet people keep on behaving badly.
I wonder how much of this is them hearing made up stories on the same social media sites that made them angry about masks of how other people stood up, said something witty, refused to wear a mask because they were a patriot and everyone in the room applauded.

They seem to get even angrier when this doesn't happen.

Now call me reactionary but if I was vulnerable I'd be taking extra precautions to avoid exactly that scenario not leaving it to others.

So how many years would you like them to self-isolate for because you wont take the vaccine?

We could probably administer a thousand jabs a day at my surgery if we needed to, without significantly disturbing routine running. One doctor or nurse can jab a patient every minute or two. The logistics are pretty straightforward. The limiting factor is always patient uptake when it comes to seasonal ‘flu.

Ah, so it isn't altruism at all. You want the whole country in lockdown because you are?

I see...

The idea that we, as a society, should lock up our elderly and vulnerable indefinitely because the hard of thinking are scared of what they've read about a vaccine that doesn't exist yet by things they've read on social media is incredibly selfish.
