Matheson's sentencing this Thursday.
Standards Committee recommend both a financial penalty and 27 day suspension. Not unanimously - two SNP members voted against the suspension The recommendation now goes to MSP's for approval. Any bets which way that'll go?
FMQ today swinney defending the indefensible, mathieson been attacked by both tories and labour. They are pointing out, rightly, than in industry he would have been sacked.
Tory intend to raise a motion next week on a vote for him to resign.
Be interesting to see where the greens vote,

Update - actually docked 54 day's pay. So not just a holiday. Though if he was as the last FM claimed a "man of integrity" he would resign.

She has my utmost sympathy having to spend time in his presence in a professional capacity.
I was in several meetings with him present back in 2016 when the SQA were setting the scene for their forthcoming disasters and I came to the conclusion then that his entire modus operandi was to say whatever he had been told to say in the most bland and disarming manner. I could see even then that he was just a puppet. The SQA had fed him a pile of complete falsehoods and he just parroted them in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary from everyone else in the room, except the shortly-after-to-be-dismissed director of the SQA.
The impression I came away with was that the SNP government were just freewheeling (something I have since referenced many times in here) and day-to-day policy held absolutely no interest for them, hence we are now in the situation that a decade of neglect and lack of interest in accountability eventually leads to.
To date it's the one and only time i have seen her angry, she is one of the most level headed calm people i know. He must have made a real impression.I was in several meetings with him present back in 2016 when the SQA were setting the scene for their forthcoming disasters and I came to the conclusion then that his entire modus operandi was to say whatever he had been told to say in the most bland and disarming manner. Re your last paragraph, i'm not smart enough to sum up the entire tenure of the SNP as succinctly as that, but that really is spot on and it is sad that so many people never saw them for what they were. It's evidenced starkly every time one of them is interviewed on TV on a topic that requires more than one word answers. Clearly obvious they know nothing about departments they are involved in and in some cases in charge of.
The fear i have is we are so far down the road of incompetence there is an entire generation of Scottish voters that know nothing more and are stuck in the tribalistic nature of SNP style politics.

After watching first ministers question time it looks like Swinney is backing him to the hilt and doesn't support this. He got a right doing from Douglas Ross and Anas Sarwar as a result. The recommendation now goes to MSP's for approval. Any bets which way that'll go?

He's treating the Scottish people with complete contempt.
Matheson should have been sacked - but to not back the committee's recommendation because there is a nasty Tory in the committee shows how far all these s are willing to go to avoid any sort of responsibility for their frankly illegal actions.
Swiney rambling on about how if a nasty employer said some bad words about a thieving scumbag he's come down heavy on the nasty employer shows you just what a that prick is !!
When are the SNP police force going to put charges against these corrupt bds ?
Oh my. Honest John is really pushing the boat out now.

Bloody hell.
John Swinney backs Michael Matheson. Says the process to suspend him was tainted by bias. Cites the involvement of
@AnnieWellsMSP
. Swinney says he will not be supporting the sanction.
Ahead of an election, too. Swinney is taking a hell of a gamble here. #fmqs
