It isn't often you can get 'sensible' and 'MOD' in the same sentence.
yes

We did tool work on troop transport seating. They changed the design several times after agreeing on a design, and eventally went back to the original. Dead to think what it cost as each design was so different and required restarting eek

Oooofff! The Argies have just sunk a Chinese fishing boat they claim tried to ram them after being caught illegally fishing. Very interesting to see what China do/have to say about this.

There's a fair bit of water that's not very close either, they're taking over that quite brazenly too!

Wonder how much the Chinese had been trying to get into bed with them pre elections.

Has anybody checked any small rocks/islands around the area? Might find it was in Chinese waters.

China would never build a false reef and try to land grab.

You have to wonder if they passed through Falklands/British waters on the way!

The Falklands do issue licences to Chinese fishing vessels to catch squid. They have their own Fishery patrol ships, and FIGAS do flights over the fishing zones to check on shipping as well.

On another note, it seems their entire airforce has been grounded.

What ever you may feel about it, its a sad end for a force that included some very brave lads:

Very much so, it's a damn shame that the country has been led by corrupt sociopaths for so long as I honestly feel we could have solid and beneficial relations with Argentina.

I don't know what it is with South American countries but they so often seem to end up in the same situation.

From that article, there's a link to another one from 2009 which intimates that they don't have any powers where 2 countries are in dispute..so what gives ?

linked telegraph article said:
The UN Commission has no power to arbitrate between countries and, in practice, the claims will remain frozen until and unless Britain and Argentina reach agreement.

Someone has been doing more sucking up in the corridors of the UN than we have?

Political shenanigans that does not mean it was Argentina directly though obviously still involved?

Can't the UK use it's veto, or does it not extend to such issues?
