I actually think here would be more chance of them doing any thing if someone shot up a bunch of old rich white men in suits.
Won’t happen. They have the secret service to make sure they are safe.The US is a broken country. I think there will be civil war there soon, or a dictatorship of some kind.

Unbelievable. How many kids have to die before something is done in that country.
Sandy Hook proved that nothing will ever be done.If Sandy Hook can be allowed to happen with no change, then there is no hope.
It would be closer to home for those with power..

The irony that guns aren’t allowed at the NRA conference they’re all planning to attend is totally mental.
And while we’re at it, recently the US went mad stopping the killing of unborn children but will happily allow walking talking living children to be shot dead at school. What kind of twisted logic is that?

Won’t happen. They have the secret service to make sure they are safe.I was disappointed to find that the NRA annual meeting is being held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, sited slap bang in the middle of Houston, which interferes somewhat for my request that divine intervention send a massive meteorite to wipe the venue and those within it off the face of the earth during Trump's speech, as this would sadly cause an unacceptable amount of damage in the surrounding area.

Does anyone not have a gun over there? this statistic is quite shocking. I knew it was high, but blimey?!

I think the issue with that statistic is that some people own 30+ guns, so making up for dozens of adults who don't own one. ![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/zgEHZ1ut.png)
As I've said before... If black or latino communities started arming up for defence, we'll see the those who hold 2A in such high esteem show it the same lack of respect as we see for 1A when the wrong type of people try to exercise it.

1A = 1st amendment to the constitution

2A = 2nd Amendment.
1A = 1st Amendment.

Apparently some wealthy, white slave owners wrote down how everything was going to be fair and free for everyone (who was like them) and it kinda stuck.

But no one gives a s
t. In fact, I don't think that's true. Most of the politicians lobbyists and powerful must appreciate how terrible the situation is with these mass shootings but instead of actually trying to do something about it, they turn their backs. That is infinitely worse.
They were just kids.
Whilst Aberfan and coal board behaviour was a tragedy, I've not quoted it, to focus on the USA gun stuff.![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

I think humans are good at rationalising stuff. Ie we can handle multiple conflicting ideas all the time.
In this case, NRA gun lobby etc rationalise it as a crime problem, a psycho problem, a ghetto problem.
The problem isn't the gun, it's simply the person using it. They won't listen to any other scenario.
Which would be remotely believable if the USA took credible measures to assess those things properly, which reveals the lie.
I wonder what their mental health crisis health service looks like?
In fact I know what it looks like - it looks exactly like a cop who will shoot you dead if you look like you're reaching for anything.
It is staggering the disregard the USA have for life, and doubly staggering given their noise the religious fundamentalists are making about right of life from the moment of conception.
Perhaps some rich white guy's children being shot dead might change attitudes, but from the days of the constitution right through to now, the USA system is designed to protect certain groups of citizens a lot more than others.

46% of non-hispanic white people live in a gun household vs 35% for non-white according to this: https://www.statista.com/statistics/623356/gun-own...

White men are especially likely to be gun owners: About half (48%) say they own a gun, compared with about a quarter of white women and nonwhite men (24% each) and 16% of nonwhite women.

White people owning guns aren't portrayed as gun-toting hicks?

How long before someone kills the children and classmates of a senator, guvernor a congressman?
Presumably all in 'safe' well secured private schools, so very unlikely. I would guess the first thing anyone at that level with kids that age did following this (or previous attacks) is offer to fund additional security at their school.g4ry13 said:

Collecting old firearms is also a thing in America, it’s not uncommon for people to own several hundred old guns without the intention of shooting any of them. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
