I'm almost certain there was some sexual abuse/peadophile scandal maybe 5-10 years ago and at the time, it was sealed or classified or something until 2050, or for 50 years, or something like that.

I'm almost certain I read about it on here at the time and the consensus was it was obviously involving some very powerful of people or royals and the reason it would be sealed was damage limitation as they'd likely be dead by the time the report was released?

Does that ring a bell to anyone else? Or am i going mad?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_paedophi...

Maybe that? But I'm sure it was a report had been conducted, but would not be released?

It's possibly not that one, that was just the only one I could find on Google that might have been it or seemed similar.

I thought it was an investigation or report that was concluded but was then sealed/classified for a set time.

I could be completely wrong, it's just every time there's a thread along the lines of child abuse, I remember it, but it never gets brought up. It might even be on a completely different topic if no one else can recall something similar.

No, I can remember something. I mean there were always those rumours around Cyril Smith, and I have been told by people who were working on it at the time that an investigation involving prominent politicians was canned in the late 80's/ early 90s, this was in the North West.

Lest we forget, look at how much the Rotherham gangs were allowed to get away with, and they didn't bother to hide it nor had any poltical or financial clout.

No, something else. I can't say obviously because of libel etc.

Edit: and obviously I have no idea how true it is.

The Justice Dept. has taken a number of steps to ensure Ghislaine Maxwell’s safety. After her arrest, USMS took away her clothes/sheets & made her wear paper attire. At MDC in Brooklyn, she's required to have a roommate and she's constantly monitored.

Maybe I'm not going mad if it rings a bell for someone else as well. I'm sure it was something under the guise of being too sensitive or national security etc.

But reading a bit about the Elm Guest House stuff sounded familiar.

Not read it all, but some of the Westminster stuff looks like it was true. So it might have been something related to that.

https://www.iicsa.org.uk/key-documents/17579/view/...

Or it may have been something linked to the Cyril Smith stuff, that seems to be the only other thing that's coming up on Google.

I would rather think here it is one of those "heard it some where" rather than in fact?

In other news, the news paper that broke this (Epstein recent arrest was a result) is in trouble. A hedge fund is after it, with connections to certain players?

It was a long time ago, I think at least 5 years, if not more, so I may be remembering it incorrectly, just something keeps sticking out about the report was finished, but couldn't be made public because of what was found.

I think it might have been something to do with the Westminster stuff, there were lots and lots of allegations. Possibly just something involved in that and at the time they weren't releasing something until the inquiry had concluded and I'm misremembering thinking it was sealed.

I thought it might have been related to this and Epstein stuff.

Anything in this article (from 2014) ring any bells?

Just as we were heading into Iraq and Afghanistan a couple of top political names got caught up in operation ore (or similar op) but the names got hidden for 70(?) years due to national security.
Was front page news for a couple of days then quicky forgotten.

The New York Department of Financial Services has published findings of its investigation into Deutsche Bank / Epstein

It results in a $150m fine for DB

It is quite an eye opener

Him i should imagine there's others more nervous

payments to individuals who were publicly alleged to have been Mr. Epstein’s co-conspirators in sexually abusing young women;

That information is now in the hands of the prosecutors for SDNY

I think that was the one linked to earlier with the Carl Beech stuff using the name 'Nick' where he made lots of allegations. But the circumstance around that and the Elm Guest House seems familiar as well.

It might be the one Dudley has posted about. It sounds like it from the nation security bit, but not the rest of the story.

I suspect I might just be remember bits from each and getting them confused hehe

Her lawyers have requested bail at £4m due to her being at risk from covid.

I would think that is the least if her worries.

Bit late to the party, and have never worn a foil hat but statements on Wiki like this:

A dossier on paedophiles allegedly associated with the British government was assembled by the British Member of Parliament Geoffrey Dickens, who handed it to the then-Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, in 1984. The whereabouts of the dossier is unknown, along with other files on organised child abuse that had been held by the Home Office.

In 2013, the Home Office stated that all relevant information had been passed to the police, and that Dickens' dossier had not been retained. It was later disclosed that 114 documents concerning child abuse allegations were missing.

This is one of those situations for me where if it looks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck...

No way that something of that importance could just be mislaid, stinks to high heaven.
