Even with all his grifting, Trump's net worth dropped by $700 million since he was elected president. Bloomberg has a rundown on his businesses

Trump’s net worth is down to $2.3 billion from $3 billion when he became president, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The pandemic he promised would disappear is walloping his company, and the riot that got him impeached for a second time is wounding his brand.

His financial disclosures and loan documents, interviews with former executives and industry analysts, and a host of legal fights and investigations reveal just how much trouble Trump and his company could face. Covid has been hard on office buildings key to his wealth and hotels and resorts that bear his name. The fallout from the Capitol assault has hurt his relationships with brokers and lenders. At least $590 million in loans come due in the next four years, more than half personally guaranteed by Trump, and his scrapyard of failed enterprises has only gotten more crowded.

No segment in Trump’s business world is as important as commercial real estate, which accounts for about three-quarters of his net worth. And few industries in the U.S. have been as hard hit over the past year, when workers disappeared from office towers and business districts became ghost towns. He’s facing a “triple whammy” from Covid, the Capitol riot and an aging portfolio of properties, says Ruth Colp-Haber, who runs office consultant Wharton Property Advisors. “These are the businesses you don’t want to be in right now.”

Remember Stones involvement with the Proud boys and how he was in regular contact with trump, who of course told them to 'stand back and standy by...'

Proud Boys leaders in four states have been charged for their involvement in the Capitol riot.
In total, prosecutors have now brought charges against 13 people identified in court papers as members of the Proud Boys.

F.B.I. agents have arrested two organizers for the Proud Boys in Philadelphia and North Carolina, and prosecutors filed new charges against two other prominent members of the far-right group in Florida and Washington State as federal authorities continued their crackdown on its leadership ranks, three law enforcement officials said on Wednesday.

With the new conspiracy indictment, prosecutors have now brought charges against a total of 13 people identified in court papers as members of the Proud Boys. Federal investigators have described the group, which appeared in force in Washington on Jan. 6, as one of the chief instigators of the riot at the Capitol that left five people dead, including a Capitol Police officer.

In the indictment, prosecutors accused Charles Donohoe, a Proud Boys leader from North Carolina, and Zach Rehl, the president of the group’s chapter in Philadelphia, of conspiring to interfere with law enforcement officers at the Capitol and obstruct the certification of President Biden’s electoral victory. Two other high-ranking Proud Boys who were already facing similar charges — Ethan Nordean of Auburn, Wash., and Joseph Biggs of Ormond Beach, Fla. — were also implicated as part of the conspiracy.

Authorities in Miami have raided the home of former Republican Sen. Frank Artiles. Artiles was behind the recruitment of a non-viable third party candidate in a key state Senate race who was recruited to siphon votes away from incumbent Democrat.

The Miami Herald reported in December that he was behind the recruitment of Alex Rodriguez, a non-viable third party candidate recruited to siphon votes away from incumbent Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez, who was facing a Republican leadership-backed challenge from Ileana Garcia.

Garcia won by just 32 votes in a race likely decided by the 6,382 votes received by Alex Rodriguez, who had the same last name as the incumbent, and had zero public campaign presence outside of political mailers POLITICO first reported. They were sent by a dark money group whose only address was a UPS store in Atlanta. Those mail pieces used talking points generally used to appeal to Democratic voters. One mail piece said Alex Rodriguez would “fight climate change” and “guarantee a living wage.”

The Herald reported that Alex Rodriguez’s candidacy was being investigated by Fernandez Rundle’s office, but few public details have been made available, and the issue had gone quiet until the early-morning raid.

A House committee on Tuesday asked the Biden administration to provide detailed financial records on former president Donald Trump’s Washington hotel — which is located in a federally owned building and must give the government financial data as part of its lease.

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which oversees public buildings, first asked for records on the hotel in early 2019. But for two years — while Trump’s administration was the Trump International Hotel’s landlord — the government refused to hand them over.

Now, the committee has asked Biden’s administration to provide what Trump’s would not, including detailed records on the hotel’s revenue, expenses, profits and losses.

Those records, if made public, would reveal the inner workings of a hotel that became an icon of Trump’s era — a place where the sitting president’s company could be paid by foreign governments, Republican allies and companies with business before the Trump administration.

Texas man arrested outside VP Kamala Harris' official residence at the US Naval Observatory Wednesday was in possession of an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, 113 rounds of unregistered ammunition, and five 30 round magazines, according to DC police report.

According to police bulletins, the Texas man, a former Army drone operator who was apparently experiencing paranoid delusions, said he was going to DC “to take care of his problem.” He was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a business, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

Remember, trump during the campaign to Harris as mean, “nasty,” “horrible,” “disrespectful,” “shameless,” and a “disaster,” and said that electing her would be “an insult to our country.”

More come out about Nunes and that russian disinformation.
"A known Russian asset sent information to Devin Nunes at the Intelligence Committee, we literally have the package receipt."
https://twitter.com/i/status/1372316678411882497

This was the russian disinformation meant to damage Biden, another attempt similar to the manufactured Hunter Biden laptop
Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, declined to say at a closed-door meeting this week whether he had received foreign information meant to damage former Vice President Joe Biden, according to a transcript released by the committee on Thursday.

The information in question pertained to packets reportedly sent to GOP members of Congress, including Nunes, by Ukranian lawmaker Andrii Derkach -- who has worked closely with President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani played a key role in the effort to pressure the Ukrainian government to publicly announce an investigation into the former vice president, an effort that led to the President's impeachment and subsequent acquittal.

But facing questioning from Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney of New York, Nunes declined to respond.
"I guess I would request an explanation from the ranking member why he is just not prepared to respond to a simple question whether he has received materials that have been called into question that seem designed to denigrate a former vice president of the United States, but, at a minimum, to share them with the rest of the committee," Maloney said.

As the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Tulare) presented a fiery defense of President Trump during impeachment hearings last month, angrily accusing Democrats of ginning up a false narrative about the president’s efforts to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on a political rival.
But newly released text messages suggest Nunes’ staff was aware of and involved in portions of the scheme, casting a new light on his combative defense.

Documents released by the House committee show repeated contact between Lev Parnas, who worked with Trump’s personal attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani, and Derek Harvey, an aide to Nunes on the committee, about meetings with Ukrainian prosecutors to get damaging information about Democrat Joe Biden, who is running for president, and about a debunked theory about Ukrainian involvement in the 2016 U.S. election.

Speaking of the russian disinformation attempts and trumps seizing of it, the WP "How a new government report strongly implicates Giuliani in a Russian interference effort"

Giuliani spent months explicitly arguing that Biden’s son Hunter had engaged in dubious activity while serving on the board of a Ukrainian energy company. This claim was fact-checked over and over again, particularly as Trump faced impeachment for his efforts to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to announce an investigation of the Bidens. At no point did credible evidence emerge to suggest that the core claims being rigorously promoted by Giuliani and Trump were accurate. Giuliani nonetheless continued to hammer on the allegations, repeatedly insisting that he had provided or would provide evidence to prove wrongdoing.

In September, while Trump was still president, the Treasury Department sanctioned Derkach — an “active Russian agent” — for attempting to influence the 2020 presidential election. The DNI report released this week is focused on ways in which foreign countries, chief among them Russia, sought to reshape the election and articulates Derkach’s alleged role to that end.

“A key element of Moscow's strategy this election cycle was its use of people linked to Russian intelligence to launder influence narratives — including misleading or unsubstantiated allegations against President Biden — through US media organizations, US officials, and prominent US individuals, some of whom were close to former President Trump and his administration,” the report reads. This effort was directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, it continues, who “had purview over the activities of Andriy Derkach, a Ukrainian legislator who played a prominent role in Russia's election influence activities.”

The main thrust of the interference, the report continues, was to imply wrongdoing by Biden, the administration of Barack Obama and Ukraine. It involved not only Derkach but Konstantin Kilimnik, a former Manafort employee who was charged by former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III for his role in Russia’s 2016 interference efforts. (Trump pardoned Manafort shortly before Christmas.)

“Derkach, Kilimnik, and their associates sought to use prominent US persons and media conduits to launder their narratives to US officials and audiences,” the report states. “These Russian proxies met with and provided materials to Trump administration-linked US persons to advocate for formal investigations; hired a US firm to petition US officials; and attempted to make contact with several senior US officials. They also made contact with established US media figures and helped produce a documentary that aired on a US television network in late January 2020.”

There’s no reading of that last paragraph that doesn’t obviously implicate Giuliani as an unwitting part of the effort.

Robert Scott Palmer, aka #FloridaFlagJacket, was arrested today.

HuffPost, building on the work of citizen sleuths, first reported on his identity in a story on March 5.

Edit: After a Tampa hearing, Robert Scott Palmer was released on a $25K signature bond signed by a third party, the U.S. Attorney’s Office tells me. He’ll be on restricted travel, can’t possess firearms, and will undergo drug testing and mental health treatment.

Few sensible folk would deny that Biden and his team have managed the Covid outbreak immeasurably better than the Trump camp’s reckless and cavalier approach.

However I think that Biden faces a further challenge from C19. Daily cases in the USA are bubbling along at around the 60,000 mark whilst, with the support of many Republican politicians in particular, face masks are rapidly being discarded and States re-opened. Such as Trump junior and the atrocious Tucker Carlson at Fox fuel the mask and vaccine-resistance revolt.

Meanwhile variant B1.1.7 is busy establishing itself as the States’ predominant pathogen. The USA may well be facing an imminent significant C19 surge - in which case most accusatory fingers will be pointed at a largely blameless President.

Clifford Mackrell from Ohio, who identified himself on video as Cliff from Ohio, was also arrested yesterday

Federal authorities arrested a Lorain man Wednesday and accused him of beating a Capitol police officer during the riots Jan. 6 in Washington, D.C.

Officials charged Clifford Mackrell, 20, with assaulting an officer, entering a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, obstruction of justice and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. If convicted, he could face a maximum of 14 years in prison.

He appeared in U.S. District Court in Cleveland before Magistrate Judge William Baughman for an initial hearing, and his case was transferred to the District of Columbia. Baughman released Mackrell on a personal bond and restricted his travels to northern Ohio and Washington.
