Scotland’s top judge says UK Gov can’t go to Supreme Court to block European judges deciding if Brexit can be halted unilaterally by the UK.

But UK Supreme Court is still a superior court to Scotland's (in a legal sense), so Scotlands top judge came be overruled by UK's Supreme Court.https://twitter.com/BBCandrewkerr/status/106049702...

It’s best location is it’s current location!
It will only be moved so someone can make a fortune from selling the land to housing companies.

Hence my statement of it being a fk up. Thank you for pointing it out.

Monkland's is a st hole with no room for further expansion, limited car parking spaces and no direct motorway linksIt’s best location is it’s current location!

It's a dinosaur from the 70's that should be shut down
The money for housing would go towards the new hospital build given the Scottish NHS own the land

Monklands is needed where it is for serving Airdrie, Coatbridge and surrounding areas.
Not everyone in the area drives but bus and train routes exist for it, as well as it being affordable for taxis.
Which basically guarantees it will be moved to somewhere out in the middle of nowhere.

None of the hospitals in North Lanarkshire have direct motorway links. Wishaw isn’t on a motorway network either and has limited parking spaces. Just in case you missed that blatantly obvious point.

Monklands covers more than just Coatbridge & Airdrie
These things aren't just done on the hoof, there will be feasibility studies done etc, see link below

I don't live in Airdrie so have no view on the hospital. Neither do I live in the highlands or have any strong view on windfarms or power lines. But it seems whatever the issue, wherever it lies, you dive in with your ubernat 3000 pish, complete with hastily sourced link to make your case.

I could offer the same argument in reverse to your good selfI don't live in Airdrie so have no view on the hospital. In fact you where so quick to jump in with the ad hom, you missed the fact that the link was from that well know nat website, Labourhame
I disagreed with the OBFA, have criticised the Gov on giving Police Scotland too much leeway and wish they where tougher on land reform
And unlike you I have first hand experience of Monklands as a patient. My view might be soured by the fact my Granda died there (not helped by some poor care)
I'd like to think that planning and building technology has advanced since the 1970's

There's a main-line station right next to Monklands (Coatdyke) and I'm sure you'll know is only about 10mins off the M8, so not exactly middle of nowhere. A pretty urbanised location, but as noted above, many of the people it serves will use public transport to it. I'd also bet its probably the biggest employer in Airdrie by some margin!
