All the pieces are starting to fit together now. The change in the law to allow access to medical records and now an app to allow these details to be accessed by anyone wanting to know your vaccination status. Sorry sir if you don't agree we can't let you in here or even out of the country. Despite continual denials from the Government ask yourself why make the law changes and why give a grant to an app developer to come up with the app. Think it's all conspiracy nonsense, it's just been shown on the ITV news. It is going to happen because no one will stand against it. Just another piece of mission creep to remove personal freedoms and liberties. No Biggie!
I saw them mention that during the ad break in Marcella. I don't watch the news itself. Apparently Gove is heading a review into vaccine passports (for domestic use, ie entering pubs etc) and whether or not it will be ethical.

The fact it's even being discussed is frightening. This is nothing short of coercion.
If these insidious passports ever come to pass, I think I would while away all my time (no jab, no job, remember?) on Universal Credit (thanks for the cash) going around town spraying all the car door handles, pedestrian crossing buttons, ATM machines etc with my pooey toilet water. You won't get Covid but some of those tummy bugs can give you a real kick.

Welcome to your two-tier society.

Has anyone noticed that the term "new normal" seems to have died a death recently?

Used to be pushed like these restrictions are going to be here forever but it has quietly tailed off...

They will probably insert a clause that you're not eligible to receive Universal Credit if you haven't had the vaccine and that's the reason for your unemployment.

Town is now 53/100k and mostly whited out suppressed data. All our large retired population are vaccinated. Streets still empty, still jumpers, still stupid masks being worn outside, alone.

I'll feel happier once this stupid behaviour stops tbh.

So basically you don't give a toss about kids as 'they have social media'.

FFS. My 6 yr old was in tears again today about missing her school and friends, thinking it will never end. But you know what, I'll tell her to suck it up as long periods of deprivation have been endured before.

Jesus listen to yourself. Kids are suffering for no reason, properly suffering, but you don't think it's cavalier.

As long as you can pop to the garden centre though eh.
My 10 year old granddaughter is in a similar situation but her parents are positive and happy people even through this restrictive time, She does not have such emotional issues. Where do you think the difference may be ?

i have no idea why you would say i don't care. Imo it's a matter of getting through this as soon as possible.

Why would you assume I frequent garden centres. What a stupid comment.

FFS, she's 6. As an adult most people can barely remember being 6. She's at home and misses her friends. It's a shame but yes she has to suck it up like the rest of us (although you obviously don't put it in those terms). Kids are not suffering any more than the rst of us and for most, they suffer far far less. They don't like the situation but neither do adults.

I hate this attitude. It's nothing but a display of pure arrogance, hypocrisy and self righteousness.
Yep. Utterly contemptible but sneering condescension has been the trademark of the self proclaimed captain of industry who just want to swan off back to his boat somewhere else so us plague ridden scum are stopping him from doing so by breaking 'the rules' so hardly a surprise anyway either I suppose.....

I think we are getting closer. I have had a few contractors round my house doing work recently and all of them once they realised that I wasn't a frothing at the mouth mask lover were greatly relieved and happy to be working normally.

One plasterer I was chatting to said most customers are 'normal' now, as opposed to last year where people were running away and sealing off areas of the house with plastic where they were working rolleyes

Sadly I expect the household vibe is causing much of the issue. Negative emotional reinforcement does not help.

It is tough but I really think there is a modern mindset issue here.

I wonder if there is a negative correlation between testosterone levels and personal fear of corona/ obsessive virtue signalling in young men.

I bet there is.
I do think now if you want to find out how we are going to deal with a situation as a nation. All you need to do is go and ask a 30 something woman with kids who lives off things like reality TV shows and shows like the Voice, dancing on Ice. And are generally not interested in current affairs apart from head line snippets and gossip on social media. And it will give you a good idea.
And there are millions of them. There’s also an older version usually 50’s, uneducated, with a picture of a dog on thier fb profile, works part in Asda and gets working tax credits. Hates the ‘torries’

I remember being 6 very clearly and my parents splitting up - had a profound affect on my life.

Kids are suffering far worse than me at that age, with all this crap by comparison. They will remember and it will probably carry through for the rest of their lives.

I hope a positive can from from this and can positively change the future for their generation, and ensure future generations don't go through this hysteria ever again.

Can raging hysteria be legislated against?

No I don't agree with that. These are the formative years for these children and personality traits established now might well be fixed for life.

Rather than being well adjusted it is likely that the denial of contact with friends and family for months on end might well leave many in a worse position. The primary schools should never have been shut.

Sweden are removing shielding advice for 'elderly home' residents who have now been vaccinated so that they can 'live their lives':

https://twitter.com/jhnhellstrom/status/1364481560...

Meanwhile in the UK vaccinated people are being told to shield, because we have made our freedom conditional on hospital capacity.
