Oh BigMon, the disdain in your message is so ironic.

Do you agree with removing/closing/banning every organisation with a name referencing skin colour? You know, in the pursuit of racial equality?
You'll have no problem pointing out where I said that will you?

Oh, hang on..........

Let's assume you didn't say it.

Can you answer the Q now?

You haven't yet come back to me regarding the lack of racial equality in the UK. You first.

If you truly want racial equality you would support the removing/closing/banning of any organization which references skin colour in its name.

Do you support this?
Are you trolling?

The idea is obviously to get the one group with “skin colour in its name” (that feels left behind) up to the other group before you can actually have the equality.
He's not trolling. He's not racist either, but.....

I didn't make a statement or claim. I asked where is there racial inequality in the UK.

So how can I justify a point I never made?

I'm absolutely fine with it.
So you support racial discrimination.

Interesting, thanks.

Another one of those that love to embrace victimhood.

There's a lot of it about these days

Quite happy for people to read my contributions and yours and form their own view on that.

Racial inequality exists in the UK and everywhere else in the world in the minds of countless people who have racial prejudice.
Trying to deal with that includes using terms like "black and white" to help focus efforts. Tell me where I'm wrong? Perhaps you think there's no racism? Or you think that there is but we can address it without referencing skin colour?

OK. Can you please show me something then that supports your viewpoint. I'm intrigued about this area of the UK where there is no racial inequality, it sounds wonderful.

You can see those people booing the national team and say "that's disgusting" or you can make excuses for the people who are booing them.

Booing is gesture politics too it's just a really stty gesture.

I'd have thought that even someone like you would be able to distinguish between people booing a disgrace of a Prime Minister and people booing other people for taking a stand against racism.

Obviously not.

In domestic games it’s just a bit lame, but on the world stage, it’s embarrassing.

It's a bit patronising isn't it, similar to how banging some pans outside your door in support of the NHS is...

Perhaps you don't understand what "racial discrimination" means? It does not mean being unaware or failing to recognise cultural differences and differences of appearance. It means not disadvantaging someone because of those differences. Hence MOBO is fine because it isn't discriminating AGAINST anyone. Nobody is being disadvantaged by it.

Do you think there is any racism in policing, education or job recruitment that results in disadvantage? Or do you think anyone is on the wrong end of racial slurs? For instance a black footballer going over to take a corner? I think that all of these things exist to some extent.

Whether it is time to move on from this or not, to those saying it has done nothing, it has generated 180 pages of discussion on a motoring forum with a demographic broadly against the practice. This discussion may have served to enlighten those indulging in it, from both sides, in discussions that might not have taken place otherwise. If this wee forum is a microcosm of society and similar discussions are going on in homes, schools and pubs around the country, job done, no?
I continue to admire your optimism biggrin

Well yeah, Millwall fans are reknowned for being both beacons of tolerance and haters of Marxism. Makes perfect sense.
If one should take Southgate and his players at their word, isn't it only fair to judge Millwall fans by their actions on the same topic?

I know it's how you see it - as I pointed out, that's part of the problem. "If you don't react exactly as I expect/want you to/do myself, you must be against me and for the other side". It's the reverse side of the same intolerant coin.

I've said I think booing is stupid (and on way more than booing the knee thing). It's as effective as taking the knee. ie it's not effective at all.

But it's good to see you noting that both are gesture politics. If only we could move on from that and get something effective done. The FA and Southgate have it in their hands to do that, and if they did I would applaud them heartily. Their answer would be "but then the racists/booers have won" or "it's not fair on the majority of fans that don't"...they have a choice.
