I had no idea the extent to which even some immigrants hate other immigrants from their original country coming in.
Hardly a hate thing - more they get impacted proportionally worse when the new migrants start behaving badly e.g. Rotherham etcIt's no different when you're on holiday and a whole load of pissed up Brits descend on your resort .. you don't think "oh cool more Brits in town!".

But every time TW has someone like him on, they're always from the left and it's always "it's the media init", I'll concede he was one of the more articulate ones.
THey've had ones of all stripes.Something I missed from last night was the small chat about a Macron moment. If May doesn't get enough to oust JC, what will the centre Labourites do...

Shame the questioner didn't phrase his point as well.

The dialogue on TW is so much more watchable than any other political show I can think of.
You seem to get a more friendly discussion without the spin and with greater concessions by those representing both sides of the political divide, I wish wish wish more political debate could be had at this level without all the shouting and talking other people down.

Rather than iPlayer, it would be better if TW and the DP were on YouTube straight away - reach more people, more of the time (no TV licence at work so no iPlayer).
QT is entertainment. You learn next to nothing, except for the prepared phrases, and Dimbleby is trading on past glory (of his Dad).

The asian guy in the audience shouting about fake universities or colleges, saying there are too many foreigners from Pakistan and India etc. He made the Suzanne Evans of UKIP appear almost left wing.

From what I understand.I had no idea the extent to which even some immigrants hate other immigrants from their original country coming in.
Immigrants who came to the UK before Blair threw open the floodgates. Came and became part of British society. Indians, Pakistanis, Early Poles, Germans, Swiss, French, Aussies whoever. They integrated, they changed their way of life to the British way of life. Adopted our cultures to a degree. Sure, they probably observed certain things from their home land. But by and large "became" Brits.
The post Blair years, there's been no inclination to encourage integration to the "British" way of life . (for fear of being called racist of course) So you get groups of Bulgarians hanging around with Bulgarians. Latvians with Latvians. etc. They bring their customs to the UK. Not all of these customs/outlooks are good! Culturally some other European countries are quite happy with cash in hand work, racism towards anyone darker than themselves etc
The earlier migrants view the later ones with the same suspicion as UK born people. They see a lot not becoming "British" and it worries them. They see that these people came to the UK for very different reasons to themselves. They see them as temporary. They've come for the money, and not the way of life, and will go home in time*. And as above, those who've been here 20+ years are worried about the notion that "all immigrants are bds" and hate that it will rub off on them!
And that's before you get to the point that the earlier generation had to earn their citizenship. Prove their value, wealth, skills etc. Whereas since Blair. Just being from a certain country means you can rock up regardless of what you bring to the table.
*(Slight tangent. But I'd love to know the numbers of Eastern Europeans who plan to stay for life in the UK. I'm guessing well under 50% Similar to the Brits who go to UAE to make as much money as possible but plan to retire in the UK).

Yes I saw that, one could see Gove smirking, like a cheeky schoolboy, he's a top needler/shooter, Gove, from a point of safety, he's out of the big loop so he can cause mischief. I feel the questions had already been dealt with, Gove had fun and Barry allowed it to upset him.
Shame. Gove apprears to be less of a shower of st than most of the current Govt.Rich_W said:

That is multi-cultural, New Labour's aim, but integration is multi-racial but it sounds somehow shabby and may weaken the Labour vote.Immigrants who came to the UK before Blair threw open the floodgates. I can live with a lot of stuff he did. (might not agree, but can see why)Can you imagine how pops the guy would be on PH had he been Tory Leader?
But HE was in charge when he threw open the floodgates. HE WANTED IT! His fking stupidity had no idea how many people would come. He estimated 30,000. It was a Million! and now we're at 3M!
If he'd engaged brain he could have applied the brake. But NO!
That betrayal of British people, his moronic views on the welfare state. And the Iraq war is why he will always be a fking disgrace!
So yeah. It happened on his watch. Therefore its HIS fault.
