My suspicion is Bercow is pimping his profile for some upcoming event. I think this is his first major political gig since he was on Sky News Election Night 2019 show
I don't like him but Ive recently watched part of that election night thing and I have to say he came across quite well

I think you are correct. He does seem to always perform - part of his ‘act’ is to squeeze as many ‘long words’ into his point in order to sound ‘extra posh and a real intellectual’.

It comes across as very forced to me. Absolutely cannot abide the man. We had the misfortune of seeing him walk through to the Chamber before PMQs when I had tickets for my mother. He was behaving like an Emperor or the King!!
