I only need to hear five little words now.

Please, Let this be true!

Im sure there are a great number of things that we actually benefit from being in the EU... None of which come to mind, but recently it has been the EU trying to fk over UK and take as much money out of them as possible with nothing in return.

100s of new stupid laws like a banana/cucumber must be straight otherwise you can sell them.... Fining UK £900 million for the way it was spending its own money... Asking UK to give a lot of money to the EU when other states are giving practically nothing but benefiting greatly.

Doubt it. Sarkozy's and Merkel's replacements will be straight on the phone kissing British arse so long as we use this opportunity to further our prospects.

Merkel was willing to concede to our requirements so that we would support them. Sarkozy chose to defned his own political career at the expense of his nation. He knew that refusing to temper a series of clauses he would be rewarded with an overseas scapegoat for his political failures.

We are best away from the EU while those who caused this mess are still at the top and trying to blame everyone else for their failings. Once they are gone, should the EU survive it will be business as usual.

Yes - whether this works out to our benefit we won't be able to tell for a while,

I always like President Johnson's euphimism - "I'd rather be in the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in".

Even Mrs T held that view.

You would have thought toilets would have been provided at these sorts of high level events, wouldn't you?

That said there's no Glastonbury next year as all the available portaloos will be at the Olympics. Maybe a lack of toilet facilities is a problem.

The quote only works about a third person that you would prefer to be in the tent, not about yourself.

The 27 is history, the '23' will be the focus of the future.
Not so - the treaties are all drawn up about the 27. The 23 cannot go and play with the 27's toys wink

I can't fathom for the life of me why 6 countries are still queuing up to join in the clusterfk...

Make it my quote then. I certainly wouldn't want to be outside, in the cold, with sensitive parts of my anatomy exposed to the elements.

Suppose you could argue it both ways. I'd prefer to be outside where I have freedom to roam rather than in a pissy smelling tent.

I suppose most analogies don't hold up if you scrutinise them too much

But it was a tent in which the occupants having deficated all over the interior had decided to make one person clear up all the faeces. Only someone mentally deficient would have stayed and sucked it up.

Much better to wander around on the outside chatting with all the other chaps also on the outside and wait for the defacators to be thrown out or clear up their own mess.

There's no arguing about the fact that there are piles of st everywhere. What isn't altogether clear is whether staying in the tent results in one being buried in a deeper pile of the stuff than crawling out of the tent. And of course, there are two, now perhaps even three, within that tent.

It was a tent pitched in a swamp and the increasing wetness was blamed on us pissing in the tent, and the others wanted us to soak up the swampwater with our wallet but we have declined and stepped outside the tent and checked into the hotel next door.

Too right !
Save £50m a day
Send back unwanted immigrants and stop the benefit tourism . Secure the boarders
Replace the EU Human rights act with something more sensible.
Tell those pillocks the Kinnocks and the other pointless MEP's to do one

At the end of the day, our exports to the EU are a tiny % of GDP. The UK imports far more stuff from the EU than it exports.
I cannot see us being frozen out of the only useful part of belonging to the EU - trade.

The tent doesn't look that stable to me, soon everyone will be outside, the only difference will be that the people who stayed in the tent will be more covered with piss and st.
