As I said, sorry for appearing uncaring but you can't help those who wont help themselves.
If there were no "guns" what else do you think these individuals would use?? Home made explosives and truck bombs???

Banning guns won't stop these individuals, they'll just not own them lawfully.
Explain why this doesn't happen in Europe where there is gun control.
Really, my, what a short memory you have.

Now, where's the Ignore function......
Oooooo thats 2 you can point to in the last 30 years...Where to begin with the US stats?
Where's the like button, well said IM.

There were reports of two shooters, which is a whole different story if true.

One thing is certain in my eyes, the US is certainly guilty of glorifying use of guns in an anti social manner in the media.

This kind of event today is aside from the usual promising young footballer falling out with another promising young footballer over the colour of his handkerchief, has all the hallmarks of one of societies dropouts who was bummed by his uncle.

i'll just leave this here

22 children and elderly woman stabbed outside primary school by Chinese knifeman

it is not a unique thing either, children being attacked in china happens a lot.

o motive was given for the stabbings, which echo a string of similar assaults against schoolchildren in 2010
Latest in series of similar attacks at Chinese schools and kindergartens

I suppose chinese films glorify knives.

You see, the thing you, and your ilk, ALWAYS fail to grasp, is the selection of the victims.

Work that out and you are part ways to understanding, if such a thing is possible, the motivation behind these "people".

But I guess you'd rather just win a keyboard battle on the internet.

I refer you to my posts above.

The 2nd amendment will never be repealed, the gun lobby is too strong. Therefore no point even arguing it.

However, it's simply too easy to get guns, too easy to own an arsenal and it's simply lunatic to allow anyone to own assault weapons.

'now is not the time to discuss gun control'

...until the next mass shooting when it won't be the time to discuss it then either

People kill people, but guns make it a hell of a lot easier to do something like this

Why dont you explain without using retarded examples why there isnt multiple shootings in Europe each year where there is tight gun control?
Is it because Europeans are a peace loving people? So far we have started both the World Wars.

US has most guns per capita with 90/100 owning guns, but is far from being at the top of the gun homicide list with 3/100,000 killings.

Gun control may or may not be a solution, essentially it's the human aspect that needs controlling, not necessarily the guns. Yearly checks at a shrink, anybody? wink

this is true

but most people in Switzerland are reasonably intelligent- and not pig-st thick and paranoid- hence dramatically less likely to go round doing this kind of thing

hehe

Let's hope the Swiss don't go in for sweeping generalisations either.

RIP to those killed and sympathies all round to friends and family, I don't know anybody involved in the tragedy but I'm pleased to offer condolences even over the internet.

Do you know how many people are killed in the US each day by firearm?

On average 266 are shot and 86 die, every day, 365 days a year.

Try this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2179995/A-...

That makes Dunblane, Brevik, stabbings in China look inconsequential.

yep apologies if that sounded rather insensitive..- its an awful tragedy.. but rather like im mentioned its outrageous that this can happen again and again-
there is definitely something different about certain parts of the american psyche where in a democratic civilised country, psycopaths are allowed to own guns at all.

"Further info: 2 of the dead teachers were a group of 3 teachers who, upon hearing the gun shots in the hallway, ran toward the shooter - not away - and tried to tackle him. 2 paid for this act with their lives. The third teacher was able to cause the gunman to seek shelter in a classroom where he was shortly afterward taken out."

PP, I think you should hang your head in shame.

something you seem determined to participate in. IM has a valid point, the US infatuation with guns is repugnant and blatantly makes these sad events more liable to occur.

22 in one day, as opposed to 86 every day...with a population 4 times larger...and generally much poorer.
