Sky just been told off by PM's secretary for speculating about the PM's health - so that option now seems less likely..

Surely if it is an GE announcement then that will then become a proxy EU referendum won't it?
LibDems coming out straight away with a "vote for us and vote for the EU".... with the "leave" vote split between the rest of the parties.... in which it may see a LibDem win ?

As the UK is very much split down the middle on the EU issue, I think a GE would be reckless.

A snap GE...... but she should be very wary of polls giving her and the Conservatives a 20% margin. But hey these are politicians and they always have their reasons. and if she does plump for a June GE that is far too long IMO, call it for May (no pun intended) and get it done.

Game theory: Some hardened remainers will vote LibDem thus depriving Labour of some votes. UKIP are weak, thus strengthening Tory vote. Labour will lose even more seats. She will have a huge majority and the opposition in chaos..
