Lockdown Imminent

A few days ago it was specifically mentioned that locking down London was impossible due to inadequate resources to enforce it.
Even in Paris the Gendarmes have found it impossible to police. The 18e Arrondissement is near Saint Denis. Life goes on as normal for the largely immigrant community, and there's tweet/videos of them laughing at the police. grassomaniac said:
Yes I do think it's needed now. What's annoying me is the fact that don't people want this to be over with sooner rather than later!? If we all did the right thing we'd have this thing done with in a few weeks hopefully, but no, lets all go to the bloody seaside. t
ts.
Mate just txt'd me from California, saying same thing happened in Bay Area over the weekend, lots of looting, muggings, and people flocking to the beaches.![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
He said there are now over 1500 military vehicles massed at Moffat NAS, so he thinks the National Guard and Military will be soon mobilised to enforce the lockdown.

If only Piers Morgan was running the country!
What's the point of getting Hancock on to talk to the viewers when all Morgan does is shout over the Guy and refuse to allow Hancock to answer the questions posed.
Exactly. I don't usually watch ITV but Morgan was just being stupid. Couldn't believe that Hancock was not really allowed to answer the questions raised. What's the point of getting Hancock on to talk to the viewers when all Morgan does is shout over the Guy and refuse to allow Hancock to answer the questions posed.

The lockdown process will begin in London first methinks. Its a week ahead of the rest of the country on the outbreak count.
Plus to put it bluntly it's a melting pot of international folk with different views and opinions as well as recently travelled.
Problem there is that them in London will just clear off back to their parents in the home counties, with their families, bringing all their medical issues with them to local stretched GPs and hospitals, no medical notes, no info, just buggering it all up for everyone. BTW, this 2m thing surely has some flaw, scientifically speaking. 2m indoors, ok, 2m outdoors on a still day,,,,maybe also, 2m ona windy day like we have had recently, or on a bicycle slipstreaming someone else 2m behind...…!! Surely that's just not the same thing and not as safe?
Common sense, but of course, people have very little of that as we have seen. Maybe it needs to be 2m indoors, 2m min outdoors on a still day with modest "movement" and on a windy day, just stay the flip indoors!

Morgan has a very obvious 'agenda' for Boris and anyone associated with his govt since his demand for interview was 'rejected' during the election campaign. It's quite clear what the issue is here - it has nothing to do with 'holding to account', it's purely personal and all about Morgan acting like a f![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
I think with lockdown it will be attempting to keep people in their city, town or village area?
So instead of monitoring lots of people all over the place it will be strategic blocking of roads and then having the right resource at train stations and the like to ensure that the people wanting to go through there are doing it for the right reasons.
People within towns that want to be idiots about it should be left to be idiots about it but not allowed to spread this to neighbouring places that are trying to be socially minded. Plus as mentioned, the country doesn’t have the numbers to lock down everywhere but looking at my town you can pretty much block it off by stopping traffic on 3 roads and two train stations.

I'm astonished that the p**ck even has a job after the couple of scandals he's been involved with. I don't know why anyone would want to listen to his brand of "journalism". Bloke has always had an agenda and seems to be a petty little a![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

I'd heard Hancock was coming onto GMB and wanted to hear what he had to say, needless to say, every question Morgan asked Hancock was interrupted by a hysterical Morgan, and all of what Hancock was trying to explain was left unanswered.
All Morgan wanted to do was trip Hancock up and score pathetic points, the Guy's (Morgan) a disgrace.

We should have done a full UK lockdown apart from trips for medical supplies and food as of today, but my feeling is it will be later this week.
Boris doesn't want people getting too bored.

Boris knows he can't enforce it. It will only be effective with the consent of all. You really won't get that consent if you go in hard & heavy from day 1. Boris doesn't want people getting too bored.

The one thing that is bugging me in the reporting is the use of these highly cropped/telephoto lens shots which flatten distance and make it difficult to judge how far people are apart. Saw several yesterday in the press where if you looked closely you could see probably that people (in their respective groups) were staying a good distance apart.
Of course those shots of people going for a walk in the local park are completely different to those driving to Skegness/Whitby etc... to queue for an ice cream or fish and chips - no excuse there.

In France, according to BBC, you need to fill in a form to go outside explaining your reasons, even to walk your dog. I wonder if there are some creative entries in the pet name box?
Quite optimistic to think our path will be very different.
My boss lives in France and he had to do this. Very strict but he seems the importance. Quite optimistic to think our path will be very different.
Lucky the weather has been good and he can work on his garden and house renovation, but you would struggle if you lived in an apartment.
The government is a shambles too wishy washy, too weak, no security. My mum is 70 still asked to work if she didn't she wouldn't be paid.
Boris is looking after big companies, his mates and the rest, well if your old or poor them sorry you are either dead or bankrupt.
Not enough testing, no enough ventilators, not enough beds, no enough planning. A first world country happy to tax taxes but when you want help, f

A supply teacher friend says every-time she starts a new class, she just writes off the first 10 minutes of class, is deliberately over lenient for a short period, in order to have an excuse to come down hard sooner rather than later, after which she can get on with teaching the class ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
