There is not a single thing a change of leader can do about the coming wipeout. Nothing.

Sounds like she'll be a figurehead only, with her every utterance having to be approved by Rees Mogg and the rest of the loons.

The nation of sheep is too big a herd - but they should at least give it a try.
How can Rishi have the gall to stay on?! madness.
The party ganged up to oust Boris, how come they aren't over RIshi?

But essentially Reform have done them over. If you took the % polling numbers for Reform and Conservative - assuming most Tory votes are going that way - then there would only be 5% difference.

Like with the wrong polling for Trump, and Brexit and Corbyn, I see Reform winning and it will shock yet again the pollsters. People forget the silent majority.

Reform winning the GE?

You’ve been tub thumping for Penny today, are you aware of her stance on gender issues and Israel? You don’t surprise me really.

Fortunately people of your persuasion are in a minority and falling. Every month right wing support falls with the natural birth and death rate.

The only thing Reform are going to achieve is Tory wipeout. Good luck to them!

Agree - the very thing the Tories were afraid of a few elections ago with UKIP, leading to the Brexit referendum. They were just kicking the can down the road.
As for Penny M for PM - no chance of that happening.

She said ' Israel has an absolute right to defend itself.' .... and? what, they don't have a right? (there is another thread for that topic).

She was in favour of removing at least one element of the medical process required for transgender people to legally transition. Aren't there more important issues than transgender weight lifters right now?

I thought you were all in for Badenoch. You do bend in the slightest breeze don't you.

'Silent majority' laugh

As for Reform winning. Sure, let's go with that shall we.

Might as well just back them all as they may all end up leader for a day or two the way this lot go for each other.

You’re a little out of touch, which is why her supporters smell a rat. Never mind, you carry on posting the usual drivel and we can ignore or respond at our leisure

Main qualification seems to be - not the last lame duck/ autist/ liar/ cabbage.

I expect everyone will end up Conservative leader at some point. It'll be like jury service.

I can't believe anyone would take the job of leader now as they would be out of a job in 8 months.

No point her coming in before the GE and having that disaster attached to her name, let Sunak own it.

Bring her in after, 5 years to prove she's up to it.
Any MP who has long-term plans that a £125k pa office allowance would help to enable would be interested in the role. Sure they get tarred with the defeat, but that may not be their primary ambition.

Well we have returned to Truss’enomics.
And for what it it’s worth the run on the market that caused the mini budget crash was down to the actions of one sole trader.

Considering its only a matter of time before she becomes leader of the party, can Penny turn around the Conservative Party?
Every time we think we've heard their punchline...

What, turn it around and make it six PMs in fourteen years?

Before then, two in thirteen.

And before then, two in eighteen.

Bring out a fresh iceberg lettuce.
