Bing / Podie,

what does it matter if I'm Brown, Cameron or the white Obama ? My only vested interest is the same as billions of other people - keeping my job, a roof over my head and a pot to piss in when I retire.

You can assume as much "vested interest" as you like, it doesn't change a single thing.

It does, for reasons Podie has already explained.

Are you in politics? hehe

Sorry, but your an idiot who has ingested all the BS spouted by the gov and the press and have not got enough of a brain to do a little research for yourself and get the proper facts.

Take a little look as to who it was who made the banks lend to sub-prime customers in the first place.

Your pot to piss in when you retire eh? it wasn't the banks who screwed up your pension, it was good old gordon years before.

You are a sad reflection of everything that is wrong in / with the uk at the moment, you believe EVERYTHING the press and Gov tell you to believe without the intelligence to question it.

I live my life by a select collection of important rules. Not voting for spackers is one of them.

So I guess that means 'no'.

Sorry, this is contextually relevant.

It'd be like me saying "bankers deserve their bonuses" and me being a banker.
oh oh oh Can I tell them who you work for???? can I, can I, please wink

Which was the trigger for the downfall of the monetary system, not the cause.

Gents, I shall be popping outside to look at the climate change protestors outside RBS - I feel like I'm due a protest after working from the golf course the last two days...

This would make for a fantastic live debate. All we need is a lovely day, ice creams and speakers' corner. Anyone free this Sunday?

Nothing to punish those who get up to their eyeballs in debt, though? That'd be an election suicide, of course.

In between filling in expense forms, voting 'no' to transparency in Government and accepting above inflation pay rises, the Government don't have time to look at real policy!

Well, that was cracking - got chatting to one of the protestors - they'd chosen RBS because they invest the most in energy companies. She starts banging on about how, we as the taxpayer own 70% of RBS yet we don't get a say at the AGM.

Fair enough I said, what do you do?

"Oh, we're students"

Shamelessly stolen from the It's very bad thread:

Bailed-out banks eye toxic asset buys

Yeah, those politicians sure know what they are doing don't they??

isnt it about time brown had a kicking for fueling this crisis that would have otherwise been just a normal recession in the economic cycle -

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financetopics/f...

the man seems to be immune from critism, appears on tv regularly and never questioned by a journalist for his imcompetence...

I pray to god that isn't true. The world is fked if that is true.

Will the government also be banning salesman from getting commission? As surely that is exactly the same as a bankers bonus.

The best thing that could of been done is not to of bailed the banks out. Let them go under. Then the country wouldn't be bankrupt over a business that has failed.
