And his latest twitter post?

"I'd like to thank the CPS for their level-best efforts in f*****g up the life of an ordinary citizen. I love Britain."
fk him feeling sorry for himself , he screwed up and got of lightly he should STFU
how is having your life ruined getting off lightly for a joke message on twitter just seen by his followers?
Look it is quite simple He made a threat about bombing an airport - airplane if he had said this at the airport he would be inside now doing time
look....

"if" he had done murder he would be in jail but he hadnt the same way he had not said it at the airport. he has not made a threat as in ringing up the airport and saying im going to bomb you it was just a frustrated rant on twitter. i presume you want the guy on this thread who joked about westminster jailed too. i also presume you are happy for the taxpayer to have funded this ( no doubt about 20-50k )

Well in your world there seems to be a distinct lack of perspective and where things appear to happen in a vacuum.

Look, that Jordan/Katona One Bullet poll above. A bit of fun maybe, but would it have been appropriate to have posted it the day after Jill Dando had been shot? Clearly not. So why, when the current zeitgeist is that nasty people are targetting air travel with terrorism, does anyone with an iota of common sense express surprise of the punishment for a Tweet made about blowing up an airport.

What if the Twiitering tt wasn't the guilless idiot he appears but was in fact Timothy McVeigh from Oklahoma? He was a guilless idiot too and look what he did with some farm fertilser and a truck.

you really dont go on the net much do you - do you want the police to arrest every single person that tweets something as a joke? the zietgeist is in your daily mail mind the terrorist threat is not a big deal. to be honest someone is more likely to shoot the prime minister so that other discussion is just as valid.

if the chap had directly threatened the airport ie rang them up or said it in some dodgy terrorist newsgroup seriously then fine. but he didnt. so stop talking about "ifs" and look at the facts. the airport said there was no threat so why waste police money on it. jesus has common sense totally been replaced by people walking round like dumb robots listening to the mail???

Isn't that why we have 'Intelligence' agencies though? To determine the chaff, from the ACTUAL threats?

The point is, this did not need to go as far as a court hearing, which the tax payers had to fund.

The most worrying thing I take out of this is that the so-called 'Intelligence' agencies do not appear to be as intelligent as we think. Do they panic at every single comment involving the word 'bomb'? This just means that their attention is spread out, and not focused.......which will allow potential 'real' threats to slip through if not careful.

Imagine how often their "bomb" alarm must sound each time it scans PH given how often we profess our wishes to "bomb heathrow airport" or to "bomb parliament"

It's all feeling a bit like minority report these days.

I find that more terrifying than anyone joking about on twitter.

If you're intending to blow up a plane or an airport you're hardly likely to stand around at check in talking about it or posting it on Facebook.

A quick cavity search would have sorted it all out.

So let me get this right... you're expecting Govt Agencies to make a sensible value judgement? laugh

Seriously, they must see all sorts of threats and banter when they're checking our posts, email etc, but I guess this muppet crossed some arbitary line somewhere. Maybe you're right, it didn't need to go to Court, possible a police caution would have sufficed. But the point remains, make a joke about blowing up a plane or whatever, and you can, rightly, find yourself in very hot water. Oh, and you still don't answer the point about McVeigh. The authorities thought he was joking too...

Or they were looking to push the existing line into a new position.

Then phone the fire brigade and laughingly tell them you're setting fire to nextdoors house and you'll find out the limit of officialdom's humour in some detail.

Except, that's not the same, is it?

Now, if I was to post on my Facebook status "If those muppets next door don't keep the noise down I'll burn them to the fking ground", should the police be called?
