As I grow older I try to reconcile my impetuous younger self with the more rational and thoughtful middle-aged man I have become.
My fervent hope is that I can temper my base instincts with a knowledge that comes only with experience, allowing me to infuse my natural reactions with something approaching maturity.
It's something we all aspire to.

Then I read about an abject, disgusting, worthless piece of filth like this and just wish intense pain and crushing despair upon him. Forever. And ever.

Sometimes it's hard to be human.
Your pain is felt. smile

they should shatter his joints with a hammer and then give him life in a cold prison.

To those who think it's better he's locked up for 24 years (min), rather than swinging from a rope.

You'll be paying out of your taxes for him for those 24 years. Still so keen?

Vermin. Best way is to be rid of 'em. Then, 100 per cent certainty, there will be no repetition.

Agree....Of 100 per cent of offenders that have been hanged, never ever has one re-offended.

“I’m Mark Brandon “Chopper” Read. A lot of people think I’m a tough guy. I’m not a tough guy but I’ve broken a lot of men who thought they were tough guys. The lowest man in jail is a woman basher a child killer and a rapist. If you bashed a woman you’re a weak gutless individual. You come to jail for bashing or raping a woman, you’ll get dealt with. You will suffer. We will break your neck you low gutless weak mice. Be afraid ’cause if you come to jail you’ll have every bloody reason to be afraid.”

It's a shame there are no colonies to transports them to. Just expel them permanently from civilisation, declare them legally dead and leave them to subsistence farming with their own kind.
Last time we did that, Australia happened. We wont make the same mistake twice. biggrin

Hopefully he will get a "happy slapping" when he's inside.
...oh without a doubt....his life will be an absolute misery I am pleased to say....and with a bit of luck after a couple of years of his life being a misery another inmate will do him in.....smile

I can't imagine an inmate actually killing him. This isn't the movies.
I'd imagine his life will be REALLY st though. No one will want to talk to him, no one will be his friend, there will be constant bullying.

It will be perpetual, too. As people leave and new people come in they will be told about what he did.

There's no point in his 24 years that I can see him having a single friend if the inmates are told what he's done.

He'll probably off himself. He's hardly likely to be strong of character.

He tortured a baby. Not typical hard nut character.

Read similar stories before. The sad thing is some lonely single mother will probably hitch up with him when he comes out (or even before) and put her children at risk. And social services being what they are will have nothing to say.
In 24 years time minimum? Judge in this case appears to have shown some common sense which makes a nice change.

I take it in British law you can't simply sentence someone to stay in jail for the rest of their life, or for a minimum of 100 years?

they can actually give a 'whole life tariff', and for child murder with sexual or sadistic motivation (and some other cases), it is the recommended sentence

that means he would never be released except in exceptional circumstances, like late-stage terminal illness

Does anyone else kind of like the terminal illness clause?
It's like when game shows do the "And this is what you could have won!".

Letting them out just as they're about to die. It's just so aptly cruel.

Hey, we can hope can't we!....people have tried to waste that sub-human scum Huntley before, hopefully someone will be more successful with this guy, well at least after a suitably long period of personal suffering.

These stories do both sicken and fascinate me at the same time, I cannot fathom what set of circumstances has to occur to positively screw up a human mind to thinking this is acceptable behaviour.

Hopefully this guy will spend at least the next 24 years in an unspeakable world of psychological and physical pain accompanied with a suicide watch to ensure that the torment is not ended prematurely.

I went to University with a girl whose boyfriend was a prison guard. I asked him how he remains professional when dealing with scum like this. Apparently it is not unheard of for over-worked officers to leave doors unlocked and it is also not unheard of for inmates to learn of this unintentional lapse in security, sometimes this unfortunately brings the general population into contact with the segregated population...... all very regretable wink

This was all along time ago though....

There was another similar case running boyfriend torturing a 15 month old girl because she cried when he played his x box, he eventually killed her frown, punchwed her so hard in the stomach that he ruptured her internal organs. However this time the Mum knew what was happening but chose to ignore it as she didn't want to lose him!! She was jailed as well.

This poor little boy, I feel for the jurors and those in court, they had to watch these videos, how do you ever get that out of your mind.

I hope both these men find they are in hell once behind bars.

I'd love to get properly medieval on this parasite.

I'd like to think that, at some point in the future, should I be unlucky enough to get a rather bleak diagnosis from a doc then I would have the means necessary to remove a few of these scum from society before I go.

That would be rather nice wouldn't it? Serve 20-odd years, quite hard years, then get out only to shot or stabbed by some bloke who has nothing to lose due to a terminal cancer diagnosis or similar.
