The argument seems tortuous: by participating in the Nuremberg trials the principle of prohibition against aggressive war has been assimilated into common law? Says who? Parliament?

Wtf does the phrase "emotionally truthfull" mean.

It means absolutely nothing.

Perhaps this is the "get out of jail card" for anyone who lies through their teeth in the face of evidence.

I would like to see the basis of this phenomenon in law.

Or is it just bks.

Cheers,
Tony

My spin on the meaning of 'emotionally truthful' is that blair was so deeply involved 'emotionally' or in his head, he actually believed that the bks he was spouting was indeed true. Anybody else in any other job would have been put on gardening leave.

I think you were spot on with "just bks".

No courts for people like him.

One of Tony Blair's old spinmeisters was on Talkradio today about this.

He said Chilcot is a publicity we and Tony was vindicated and cleared of any wrongdoing and he can't understand why the subject keeps coming up.

Seems Tony is busying himself with Afican issues and can't be bothered to respond to such "attacks", while Chilcot is seeking non executive directorships, speaking engagements, a peerage, invitations to bar mitzvahs, and so on.

The Loopy Left is alive and well.....

So, he is accusing Chilcot of being very much like Mr. B'Liar. Ouch.
That's nasty.

Blair is blaming the Beeb.

"BBC accused of ‘putting words in Chilcot’s mouth’ after he said Tony Blair ‘was not straight’ over Iraq"

hehe
In all fairness, watch the video in the article above, it did go somewhat like that in fact.
"leading the witness" would be putting it mildly, however, Chilcot is not a stupid man, and had several opportunities to outright deny it.

Tony Blair: 'absolutely necessary' Brexit doesn't happen – video

Perhaps my memory is failing me, but wasn't this the same man that suggested it was 'absolutely necessary' that we go to war in Iraq?
Taking his word, worked out well that time too as I recall.

I'm not interested in the pro/anti brexit argument at all here - there is a thread for that.

I had, many years ago, reached the conclusion that the man is incapable of acting for anyone's interests but his own. The only logical conclusion therefore, based upon that logic, is that brexit must be absolutely necessary.

He really should just shut up now.

Would that be president of the European parliament, president of the European commission, president of the European council, or even president of the council of the EU?

If anything this should be a reason to stay in the EU, we don't deserve to suffer alone, a problem shared and all that. Just think of the fallout from the clusterfk Bliar would make of an EU Presidency (probably nuclear fallout).

I'm surprised that he didn't consider such a role beneath him, I'd have thought that President of the Galaxy would be more in line with his ego and ambitions
