There isn't one. A shower (of ste wasters) would be more significant and appropriate. It's what they are.

These people are simply anarchists and, well, let's be frank. They are F. nuts! (what do they do for a living, do they actually have proper jobs or employment?
This bloke gave his job up to campaign full time for Extinction Rebellion. Full time cyclist campaigner and car hater

So the punishment for blocking a box junction is now greater than the punishment for blocking an airport. Top work lads.

Definitely, it's costly, self-inflicted and won't improve any time soon. Meanwhile the likes of China, Russia and India make the right noises occasionally while carrying on with cheap energy for domestic and business consumers. There are actually people with the vote who think carrying a bag for life makes a difference, what hope is there of explaining to them that the entire UK "guilt trip" behind the extreme propaganda represents just 1% of the global situation. That's everything, homes, businesses, transport, energy, public sector, the lot. Stop the lot and economic growth in China, Russia and India would replace our tiny emissions in a figurative heartbeat. Bag for life, ffs.
A family friend who is the full raging XR rebellion type posted a link on Facebook in December about China planting a few thousand hectares of trees.

Captioned it “love China so green smile” how fking stupid are some of these people!

With Chinese city in Lockdown it would be interesting to know how the CO2 levels are in the city with the reduced traffic?

Is it normal that an admin cock-up by the CPS nit to put a witness on notice to testify results in a case being dismissed? I would have expected it to be adjourned.

You can probably guess what the Prof. said, but here's a report that isn't behind a paywall:

Yes, I know, right-wing, Koch Brothers, Heartland, GWPF, blah, blah...

It's the only report I could find that wasn't behind the Times paywall.

Thanks. I find somewhat ironic that the brightest of the bright should have such a tenuous grasp of reality.

Extinction Rebellion's Cambridge chapter has been out and about again: https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-ne...

I'm assuming the irony of that camping chair may have been lost on them.

The Grafton centre is dieing on it's feet, so most of Cambridge will have been blissfully unaware.

Personally I have no problem with what they have done here. They are not blocking anything or stopping anybody going about their usual business apart from having to walk a few steps further to reach some shops. Hopefully they have seen that actually stopping people from working or doing the things they normally do, like blocking petrol stations or railways, is not only dangerous but counter-productive.

Protests from these stinky bds are apparently going to get a little but worse.

'While many of XR’s aims are worthy, there is a far darker and more sinister motive, too. Today’s LBC report will feature video evidence in which Simon Bramwell, co-founder of XR, expresses his desire for “direct sabotage”, causing the collapse of much of current society and a descent into a form of anarchy.'

Indeed; Extinction Rebellion's aims go far beyond climate change.

Which is and has long-been a cloaking device for extremist politics.

It's perceived as a useful vehicle due to a combination of various factors including a long history of propaganda impacting on an innocently uninformed public, superficial appeal, sentimentality, appearing and claiming to be above criticism, and a magnet for funding from those with more money than sense.
