it remains to be seen how accurate the Conservative Home polling is. But for what it is worth

Boris 66%, Hunt 30%

The concocted furore over the weekend has had little impact they think.
Do these things ever have much impact?

What about when Veto rights are taken away, when it no longer had to be a unanimous vote?

Say on foreign policy, human rights, taxation etc?

This is being pushed fairly hard at the moment and can see it happening sooner rather than later, especially for things like a unified tax rates. It is the only way the Euro can last long term, it will level the playing field across Europe, but do we want to part of that in the UK? What about someone like Ireland? It would decimate their economy.

There are certain things that need to happen for the EU project to survive going forwards, however, I think many of those things most who voted remain would not be happy with if they were honest.
Not a chance in hell that this will happen in our lifetimes, if at all. Let’s revisit this in 10 years and see how things are shall we.

Unless it happens, the EU is toast. We are doing them a favour...without us vetoing everything, they have a small chance to survive.

The tinfoil hattery in here is remarkable.

The evil EU out to get you all! And, of course, all the other countries can't wait to sign up to this just to get the plucky English!

You're all bonkers.

There are only two areas where there is a veto .. foreign policy and tax

The E.U. wants to remove the Tax veto and they want an Army .. that suggest foreign policy too

If it doesn't happen that will be the end of the EU project.

I'm not saying it will happen, but I think we may see their need for it end the project as it stands.

It doesn’t matter what links you provide, the truth will always be a little less scary than you want it to be.

Oh yeah, and the small matter of UK law around defence changes. You’ll never change your mind and that’s fine, neither will I. On that basis, you keep running scared, I’ll go for a more balanced approach of finding out reality and then making my mind up from that point.

Hyperbolic nonsense..........the EU is not evil, however, 2 out of 3 EU citizens do not like the direction the Commission has chosen for us. The membership dilema for most countries is that they are net benficiaries.

And when a citizen doesn't like something they can change it, not just run away.

And?

What has that got to do with the EU leaders saying that we need to remove unanimity from tax decisions if the project is to survive?

You mean that was a lie?

So you think they are lying when they have begrudgingly admitted that this needs to happen?

Err......OK.
