The lads who run my favourite local Indian restaurant and takeaway are Muslim. They observe fast during Ramadan and all that but, one or two of them will, in occasion, have a drink - spirits, not beer - with favoured customers near closing time.
Blimey, my group of friends must be devout as I have never in my whole adult life witnessed any of them drink alcohol, and I have attended many forms of social gatherings with them.

Either that or they just don't share that moment/information with you?

Yes that may be so, but we are a close group and I would be disappointed if true.

I have had another of those troll/bot "Oh noes! I butthurt because you are being mean about thicko racists on PH" private message emails. This is from a new one, but with the usual makey uppy email address. I wonder, as others have, why the bot controller even bothers, but I suppose that it is good for people to have hobbies.

Lol, very good I was taking the going for a drink as alcahol, but I think you know that.
It’s possible to socialise without drinking alcohol. Do you think your imaginary Muslim friends never ever go out socially?
Also, some people who are culturally Muslim in some ways do drink booze. Some people are culturally Jewish up to a point but eat bacon butties. There is no one size fits all pattern. Moroccan wine is not too bad, by the way.

You're such a show off.

I've only ever had one, and it was complimentary!

So what was the purpose of your comment “does the video I posted show them smashing up a bus”?
Because the video I posted was to show CONTEXT to show that the claims there was violence against police was not as one sided as MSM and those on here would have people believe.

The video and therefore post had nothing to do with wider isolated events such as buses being smashed up etc.

So they can smash st up but the Police can't react because we can only go off what was in the video clip and have to ignore the events they may have been reacting to? confused

hose officers look like they are trying to get through the crowd for an objective, not confront them. Which is why they're single-filed / double-filed. They don't have their helmets on, have no batons drawn and have no shields. They're pretty good indications.

I'm not sure what the objective was, or how it fits into the bigger picture of managing the event, or whether it was the best tactic, but that's what it looks like to me.
Whatever the intent it was very poorly executed and got the result to be expected when dealing with a bunch of very drunk and anti police protesters.

That's a good observation. In fact I thought the police were very brave when you consider the baying mob they were facing together with the bottles/projectiles which were flying left, right and centre.
There wasn't a baying mob in that video till the police took a run at them at which point the mob turned on them and they retreated. What their intent was I do not know but it was pretty bloody stupid to run at protesters who were drunk and who blame police for TR being in jail.

And the reason i posted the video was to show the baying mob were not as bad as some wish to portray as you note that they stopped advancing on the police and stayed back behind the barriers.

Yes for a little bit after it all stopped there were a few bottles etc thrown towards the police but nothing like the initial onslaught and nowhere near as effective either until the throwers either had nothing to throw or got bored of throwing things.

It's always someone else's fault isn't it Frank?

It's like you're trying to turn playing devil's advocate into a really st art form.

What??

Its not hard to understand or at least i didn't think it was.

The rally was reported to have had violence. It was made out that it was all to do with TR's mindless thuggish supporters.

I posted a video to show context as to why A: there had been at least one act of violence caused imo by police behaving stupidly and B: that the supporters weren't all thuggish tts bent on violence as instead of starting a full blown battle they reacted and then calmed down and stopped their attack on the police once the police backed away.

It was not to support his supporters. It was to provide context to the popular narrative. There were other things that happened at the event such as a bus being over run etc which I have not commented on as I wasn't even really aware of it but it is not relevant to the video or point i was making anyway.

No. Its about learning lessons and understanding context something you appear to struggle with.

Read the words back.

Go watch the video again and pay attention to the bit where the Police are having glass bottles lobbed at them.

Stop and think whether you really agree with those peoples actions or consider them acceptable.
