I've not seen the film. I don't if the film was based on that previous robbery of a Lloyds bank in 1971 mentioned in the book on one of the Hatton Garden thiefs:

The claim, which is being treated seriously by police
I assume she's been able to support the loss with evidence rather than just taking a long shot at a claim for £7 million.

Must have been a very large box.

I doubt 7m in gold jewellery would take up much space.

I'll ask the ex. smile

Are the larger boxes accessible with a forklift? That's quarter of a tonne of gold.

Wonder where the Hatton Garden jewellers store their stuff now (no I’m not planning a heistsmile)?

Given that most high street banks have got rid of their locker service (think it’s only metro bank that offer it now) it must be a pain in the arse for those who need to use such facilities.

"Basil" had £143k of jewellery in his bedroom/workshop!

All but 82 items found in his room have been identified as having been in safety deposit boxes that were raided.

Nice detailed description of some of the forensic work that the police have been doing too.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6669425/H...

edit: originally the DM story said £143m, but they seem to have changed it now to £143k.

Police have obviously brushed up on their forensic work.
