If I may just dip in to this part of your argument for a moment. The Glasgow sectarian troubles are a microcosm of the Irish troubles with the same root cause - politics. Glasgow had a huge influx of Irish in the 19th century and whilst the indigenous Scotts hated the English, they hated the Irish more for the time honoured "comin' over here takin' our jobs/women etc". The football team/religion identifier was just a way of finding out if you were Irish or Scottish. The violence was not fueled by heated debate about ecumenical matters, pretty much like NI, it was about money, power and ethnicity. Check out Glasgow for sectarian troubles in miniature.

I would suggest that this is different to how religion is being used by the Islamic radicals, but the ends are largely the same - the acquisition of power.

But why go to Tunisia of all places?
It was FUBAR'd before the 'insurrection' took place.
Poor advice may have been given - the results are gut-wrenching.

whats sickening is that there is only one religion is causing casualities like this and has done it for years and years and still some have the nerve to come in here and tell us that uh-ah yes religion in general is a bad thing and terror has no religion. Do they take us for idiots? I`ll adress the problem - its Islam.
This. The fightback against extremism starts now. Hooman rights lawyers will soon be all over this.

At the moment it's Islam, during other periods it's been most other religions. Let's face it - religion is just st, quite frankly and seems to have the ability to bring out the very worst in people. But, yes, Islam is the current 'turd in the water pipe' it would seem. It appeaers to be very good at turning a large number of its followers into utter psychopaths.

What about Spain, for instance. Not everyone can jet off to the maldives or fiji for there weeks in the sun.

Besides that, a holiday is hardly a necessity. If somewhere reasonably safe is beyond your means then don't go abroad.

there is a school of thought the people of that area are only used to being ruled by fear and have been for generations hence the success of Gaddafi and Sadam etc i wonder if a strategic strike has even been thought of I doubt it very much. Whilst the west is the main target of Isis overseas China and Russia will do nothing .http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3134534/Th...

Its not religion, Its any group where the people in the group believe that their views should take precedence over others, or only they know the truth, or are intolerant of othersHitler,
Stalin-
Mao
Pol Pot
Not much in the way of religion there.
I think you will find that those alone were responsible for more deaths than all the deaths caused by religion throughout the whole of human history.
The same seeds of evil can be found in groups across the globe at the moment- Some extreme US sects, UK extreme right-wingers; UK extreme left-wingers, muslim extremists and many others.

Once again the nonsense about NI being about religion, go do some research talk to those who were out there.
You will find it was about criminal gangs who just happened to be from those communities.
It was about protection money, drugs, prostitution etc etc etc.
Nothing to do with Religion in the main!
Depends how far back you wish to go.You will find it was about criminal gangs who just happened to be from those communities.

It began as an independence movement, uniting both Protestant and Catholic inhabitants. The British astutely turned the two on eachother and the rest is history.

Do you really think you can just write off Hitler and the whole Nazi movement and just say no religion there, just by mentioning him ? Hitler,

It is simply a question of way of life.
We all want to live our lives however we like, whether that's based around religion, capitalism, communism, anarchy, atheism............ Once we cannot tolerate the instance of those that want to live their lives another way then we start to threaten their way of life and it goes on from there.
Ask yourself this question; if Muslims agree with what IS are doing why are there Muslims fighting against them? Why haven't Iraqi and Syrian Muslims welcomed IS with open arms, why do IS need weapons? Surely Muslims just love a bit of head chopping, hand removal, burning, drowning, a lovely bit of chucking off tall buildings, right up their street eh?
