You'd think it would be obvious.
But joking aside, one of the reasons for voting remain for me was EU putting brakes on seemingly insatiable appetite of UK govt to collect data
Their appetite is nothing compared to Facebook etc. I find it faintly amusing that some people will kick off about UK Government collecting data and then upload all sorts of st onto Facebook! But joking aside, one of the reasons for voting remain for me was EU putting brakes on seemingly insatiable appetite of UK govt to collect data
There's no way I'll be giving financial data to a porn site.

“Everything people do, either on Facebook directly or on sites that have a Facebook ‘Like’ button, reveals information about them to Facebook,” adds Schneier. “That’s an important point: Facebook tracks you even when you’re not on Facebook, because of their extensive surveillance network on sites that link to them.”

The important difference is they've *chosen* to share with Facebook et al. You have no choice about having your data swept up by government agencies.
Sort of.. Facebook also collect lots of data about you and acquaintances that you aren't in control of. You don't even need to be a Facebooker.WinstonWolf said:

Don't know what's big huppla about. Nothing to hide, nothing to fear. If this helps to defeat terrorists and other undesirables, all for it.
Yeah, if we stop terrorists looking at porn the world will be a safer place. Not...Triumph Man said:

Post-Brexit and if we leave the ECHR, we'll see how far they can push it. I'm guessing as far as they want as the general public seem almost as ignorant as our leaders.
Imagine a country in which Government policy on such matters is precisely aligned with the editorial slant of the Mail and you won't be far off.I remember watching this a couple of years ago - https://www.ted.com/talks/alessandro_acquisti_why_...
Impressive what they could do 5 years ago, I would imagine that it's far further along now.
One example was being able to create the first 5 digits of a US citizens SSN just from an anonymous photo - the inference of very private data from public data

Only to someone that knows you. You used to hear that exact kind of language on terror threads all the time. (completely unrelated and before I forget; are pilots allowed to take photos from the cockpit during the flight?)

Remote filming like a go pro might be different but again there may be rules about attaching it to windows etc and again about sharing it online.
But to answer your question there aren’t any rules (as far as I’m aware of) stopping people taking pictures generally but the airlines themselves may have rules about it and when you can take them and what you can do with them,

It depends on the airline but I doubt any would be against taking photos in the cruise. Critical phases like take off or landing then I expect the pilot might be expected to be concentrating on the job in hand.

Thanks. You should post more interesting ones. Anyhow, apologies for the thread hijack. Back on topic; yes, snoopers charter bad. Remote filming like a go pro might be different but again there may be rules about attaching it to windows etc and again about sharing it online.
