BLAIR, his latest intervention. Should he shut up ?
Discussion
How can Blair still be walking around as a free man, spouting the bks he does!!!!
He is a war criminal and should be on trial for mass murder!
His only objective in life is to add to his funds and he doesn"t give a st about any body but himself. Fools all of you, who are succoured in by this .

The only reform the EU care about is more power to the EU. The fact that the people of the UK have never given approval to that loss of power escapes them.
Would that be the worst thing? Say the EU realises its superstate dreams. If it was run well, would it be in the UK's benefit to be part of a larger bloc? I know there's "take back power" this and sovereignty that. But for your average working man would life be better or worse? America is an amalgamation of various states, but all have their own identity and whether you like them or not, you can't deny they're a world superpower.

Tony Blair Institute carries out a poll on leave/remain.
Doesn't like result, so massages the numbers!
Its worse than that, the main poll was based on nearly 80.000 people, the one with the "correct" result was based on just 1800 people !Doesn't like result, so massages the numbers!

Thanks to all those who’ve gotten in touch to let us know our Facebook poll has been hijacked. Not trolls but #naughtynigel
However, he forgot to ask people to hijack our Twitter poll, which shows a genuine 81% of people would rather stay in the EU and think again #oops

The statistical misrepresentations being published in this debate are shameful.

So, if it wasn't we'd just have to put up with it, as we'd have no power to change it.
I would much prefer that we retain the right to control our own destiny.
Hilarious.
Precisely the same arguments used to defend the concept of communist Utopias against all the evidence of how they actually turn out.
The sad irony of the EU is that people like Verhofstadt so often denigrated on this site does believe in a positive democratic vision of a perhaps a Federal EU, the problem is he has nothing like as much power and influence as Brexiteers claim. Its a delicious irony about the EU, if it was a truly democratically accountable construct would there have been such a push to leave it from the UK? Take as an example Macron's recent objection to the President of the commission being chosen by a democratic process via the parliament, and you can see that whilst many may like to try and look the part they steadfastly want the real power in the EU to remain in backroom deals they believe they can control.

Depends on what you consider a benefit, I guess. America is an amalgamation of various states, but all have their own identity and whether you like them or not, you can't deny they're a world superpower.
Extrapolating wildly, look at China. Quickly on the way to superpower status, everybody getting very rich very quickly. Would you want to be a part of China? Probably not - because you would not want your personal liberties infringed by the regime.
As I say, a wild extrapolation - but I believe that's the thinking of many.

Not sure the USA is a good example. Or maybe it is depending on which way you look at it. America is an amalgamation of various states, but all have their own identity and whether you like them or not, you can't deny they're a world superpower.
A large federation of individual states; huge inequality, massive poverty, massive corruption, a dangerous and damaging influence all around the world.
Could the EU be the same, it’s already achieved most of that?

He's a bit like Farage, in that many people think he's a vile and loathsome individual, with some pretty repulsive views. However a big chunk of the electorate voted for him, and agree with his views about Brexit. He has as much a right to be heard as anybody else.

There is a number of ways around it, one of which is that if we don't like the deal the UK leaves and then rejoins straight away.
The other is a staged exit with the ability to rejoin.
Every EU country stands to lose when the UK exits so I doubt any of them will block the UK re-entering which can always be sold as the UK being stupid.

True, and we all have just as much right to ignore him, and all the silliness he comes up with nowadays. I've known some incredibly thick-skinned guys over the years but none come anywhere near Blair, it really is as if he believes he's some sort of God that we all need to save us !He's a bit like Farage, in that many people think he's a vile and loathsome individual, with some pretty repulsive views.
