It really is Sophie's choice! If there were NO chance of escape, surely better to let your little ones sleep and cuddle them as you all go together, rather than in a screaming fireball of seared flesh. As a parent I cant even think about that!
But well done for him getting his family out instead of giving up

A bunch of wags build a cardboard Grenfell and comment as it goes up in flames on their bonfire.

Calls for it to be treated as a hate crime rather than just a badly judged joke though.

Pretty sure they'll be able to work out who filmed it, guess they won't be inviting that party guest next year

Ok is it me but was i the only one that discretely (inside of course!) sniggered at this?

Ok maybe its the dark humour drawn out from 24 years military service but lighten up (no pun intended there!!).

Probably yes.

I have a dark sense of humour but there's nothing funny about it.

Somewhat ironic on the night that we traditionally stick an effigy of a catholic on a bonfire.

I do appreciate that Guido & Co. were by modern terminology terrorists but I'm surprised it's not been branded a hate crime yet.

I have a pretty dark sense of humour, but the thought of watching the fear on my 10 year old son and my wife's faces as the flames come into our house knowing they are about to be burnt alive fills me with dread.
I therefore can't for one second see how mocking those who went through this is any way humorous?

If you find the thought of this funny I worry for those around you.

PM has commented now - I don't think this will go well for anybody involved:

Add to the "stupid people are stupid" list. I mean, what are they going to be charged with, after the end of a no doubt hugely expensive and time consuming police investigation? And who's going to be held responsible, what if kids made the tower? shall we lock them up too??

It's very poor, taste, highly questionable humor, and not something anyone with an ounce of empathy would do, but seriously, can we get a grip on reality for once please, and just file this where it needs to be filed, which is, as i said "stupid people are stupid". No doubt people will be "OUTRAGED" questions asked in Parliament, and god knows what else, but really, had this not been on video, then it would have been a complete no event.

Bad taste. Very. Offensive? Very.

Hate crime? I'm not so sure.

article said:
The video was first posted on Twitter by Kay Oldroyd who is furious at what has happened after it was sent to her via WhatsApp.

Sickened Ms Oldroyd has asked the Met Police on Twitter if it can be reported as a hate crime.
article said:
Labour MP Emma Dent-Coad, whose Kensington constituency contains Grenfell Tower, told MailOnline: 'To recreate a very recent atrocity where people saw their own families burnt to death is reprehensible and criminal. These people should be subject to the criminal justice system.
article said:
A Scotland Yard spokesman said it was 'too early' to state what type of offences could have been committed, nor could they say whether Met officers were working with police from another force.

I'm pretty sure a "Hate crime" has to be directly targeted against a victim or victims. In this case, it was in-advisable, inappropriate, but there is no evidence of DELIBERATE or PREMEDITATED hate against anyone that i can see in that video?

As mentioned, we burn Guy Falkes every year, is that a hate crime too???

Seriously this country is a joke now.

I'd understand if it was a public event this was done at but it's a private party some muppet that was there has probably shared it on whatsapp or something and its spiralled out of control

Now we have fking theresa the appeaser releasing a statement... Seriously the PM getting involved in this rubbish and no doubt hundreds of thousands will be spent on investigations and prosecutions.

Yet in london now 4 murders in 5 days can't get police to attend burglaries stabbings rife.

Hate crime jesus wept.

As much as I find these fkers sick in the head, especially doing it in front of their kids, I agree, it is what it is and to prosecute would be a waste of time and money.

It is not a hate crime, just shows them to be utter s.

Show their faces, let them put up with the fall out.

More will happen to these numpties having a laugh (not very funny IMO, but that is all it is), than will happen to the tts who caused this disaster with their ineptitude.

Some of these people on this vid will be vilified, lose their jobs and reputations etc , no doubt, but at the council, it will be "lessons will be learned" and normal shyte service resumes.

It's not funny, but it is just a joke, and not at all the first that has been made about this disaster. Wont be the last too.

If plod bother to even spend 10 misn on this, they need a few more fking cuts IMO

I can almost guarantee these same tosspots would froth at the mouths about stories of people burning poppies.

Both acts are for the utterly shameless.

Yeah...I do.

Not up to you to tell me to stop talking nonsense is it?
I can only judge the sort of person you are by the things you say, and you come across as a proper nasty by saying you find this funny.

It's just an opinion, you no doubt think the same about me. That's just the way it is.

Under a week since Chief Constable Sara Thornton stated the police should focus on burglary and violent crime we have calls for police involvement in a tasteless joke. That new directive lasted well.
