On holiday, west of the border, in Snowdonia at the moment, and tbh, I'd forgotten all about the ill-feeling from north of the border.

Quite a relief really, to find a nation of people with their own language and identity, who don't seem to have a need for shoulder mounted chips.

Lol

Just hearing on the news one Treasury upside to the huge number of people who registered onto the electoral role is that historic council tax debts which were dormant and couldn't be progressed as individuals had gone "off radar" suddenly are now back in wink.

Thatchers Poll tax comes back to bite those who refused to pay first time around (yet were happy for others to pay it) wink really made me smile
It's certainly got them frothing on the 45 FB pages. Who'd have thought it? Scum tax dodgers berating millionaire tax dodgers.

If the councils manage to claw back a few quid from the retarded socialist fks then maybe this whole saga wasn't a total waste of time.

I was away in the days after the referendum. It was indeed bliss!

Think we're just with a tiny minority bleating on and on about anything Westminster does on Facebook. I think they pop up on my news feed as I'd been posting/commenting a lot about independence in the previous weeks but I'm just hiding all the knobbers with 45 in their profile pics etc.

I think what "the 45" represents will be much closer to 45 people than 45% of the population.

Blah blah.

18% didn't bother voting, so they're probably more accurately described as "the 36.9". (ps: they don't like being told that wink )
If I were a nasty bd I'd call them the 0.45% as it's the percentage of Scotland's tax revenue they contribute.

Was in London over the weekend on a break. It was great to get away from all the yes/no rubbish.
Absolutely no one bothered about the accent, or being handed Scottish notes.

The only person who brought it up was the guy i went down with. He moaned a lot about prices and walking.
Typical yes voter really.

I'm glad i've came back to find all the signs have been removed from lamp posts etc.

In my eyes, the damage is done. It's strange but i felt more at home in London than i have done in my local area.

The reality is that people in the South have moved on and don't give a toss about it.

However, if there is any more bullst then there is a much greater level of awareness and ANYTHING political that involves giving more money to Scotland is going to come under much closer scrutiny than it ever did before.

I don't think Scotland has ever asked for more money, just more responsibility for raising and spending it (for better or worse).

However, many people never previously engaged with politics are joining Scottish political parties, such as the SNP.

I'm going off on a tangent from what I was originally thinking, but the SNP are surely going to have a very tricky task managing a multiplying of their membership, especially when the average level of political awareness in the party is plummeting. scratchchin

If the least offensive way possible (although still offensive...) at least pre-referendum the loonies weren't totally running the asylum.

More Powers, More money, same thing. People in the South will not tolerate more of anything being given to Scotland without some kind of Quid-Pro-Quo. Long term, that's likely to be detrimental to Scotland.

Meanwhile any bitterness that exists is only north of the border. Nobody elsewhere gives a toss about it.

Salmond in Holyrood just now just said that nobody will get chased for poll tax debts, referring to the people who stuck their head above the parapet by registering to vote in the referendum.
