Questions from Jon Karl to which Trump doesn't respond:
"Mr. President, do you have any thoughts on John McCain?"
"Do you have any thoughts at all about John McCain?"
"Do you believe John McCain was a hero, sir?"
"Nothing at all about John McCain?"

See it here. Interesting Melania was there

So he's finally been persuaded to issue an official statement on McCain.

I wonder if it was all the pressure from the Vets that finally did it!
“Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country and, in his honor, have signed a proclamation to fly the flag of the United States at half staff until the day of his interment,” the statement said

This is the man who tried stiring up the NFL protest by saying the players taking a knee were disrespecting the military and vets.

There is no way he wrote that himself out of his own free will.

nobody mentioned this? wink

An attorney for Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former lawyer, is backing away from confident assertions he made that Cohen has information to share with investigators that shows Trump knew in 2016 of Russian efforts to undermine Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Lanny Davis, a spokesman and attorney for Cohen, said in an interview this weekend that he is no longer certain about claims he made to reporters on background and on the record in recent weeks about what Cohen knows about Trump’s awareness of the Russian efforts.

Davis did not rule out that his claims were correct but expressed regret that he did not explain that he could not independently corroborate them, saying that he now believes he “should have been more clear.”

Fair enough if that's the case. But don't kid yourself that these people granted immunity, aren't going to hurt Trump immensely with their testimony.

Cohen is trying to make a plea deal. Davis said too much and angered Mueller, hence why Davis is trying to back down. There's no advantage to using information that the other side know you have. That's all there is to it.

The Wall Street Journal are reporting that Manafort is trying to make a plea deal prior to his second trial, but talks broke down after 2 hours on issues raised by Mueller.

Apparently in the mid 90s McCain voted down a bill to loan Trump $350 million saying people like Trump are well capable of of taking that risk without government help. So that's where all this started.

It's reported that trump spent the weekend ranting and is now ignoring all advice.
He wants to pardon Manafort and is ignoring his lawyers advice to not do this.
Expect him to sack these lawyers soon...

Trump canceled the entire new FBI headquarters project this year so he could make more money from his hotel across the street. It's claimed he intervened in plans to turn the FBI HQ across the street from his luxury hotel into a construction zone, then invoked executive privilege to block inspector general from learning what he said in meetings

Seems like he was best President the US never had... what an indictment of the state of the nation when it could have had JMcC but returned the tango'd clown...
He was, quite simply, he was. I’ve been a John McCain fan for over 20yrs since I first learnt about him. I waxed lyrical about him on usenet groups back in the day when he ran against Dubya and on here when he ran against Obama.
He has been the outstanding US political/Statesman/leader/talent for the last 25yrs in Washington and it was a crying shame for the States and the Pax Americana that he was never President.
He lost to the religious right by refusing to lick their boots with Dubya and he met Obama’mania after. How do you campaign against an overwhelming cultural tide and a reaction to Dubya and expect to win? As Unrep’s clip showed, he still refused to compromise his principles to his own ppl even when he needed every advantage he could get.

I’ve always said Obama was on a hiding to nothing getting elected when and how he did. There was no way he could ever have lived up to the expectations and predictions. If he had come after 8yrs of McCain it wouldn’t have been a revolution against Dubya or a cultural wave, but an evolved continuation of certain themes. America would be far stronger internally now and the Pax Americana would be nowhere near its current level of fractured state.

Still, the past is another country and all that...
RIP Senator. A proper chap.
