This man is the President of the United States, and he engages in teenage mean girl level social media.
It’s hard to even know what to say really.

I feel really sorry for Americans that they are being humiliated daily by this tt.

Sarah Sanders has been interviewed by Muellers team

"The President urged me, like he has everyone in the administration, to fully cooperate with the special counsel. I was happy to voluntarily sit down with them," Sanders said in response to a question from CNN.

The interview is one of the final known interviews by Mueller's team. It came around the same time as the special counsel interviewed former White House chief of staff John Kelly, well after a number of other senior officials, including former White House communications director Hope Hicks and former press secretary Sean Spicer, were brought in for questioning.

The White House did not immediately agree to grant the special counsel an interview with Sanders, according to one of the sources. Similarly, as CNN reported in December, White House lawyers initially objected to Mueller's request to interview Kelly, who ultimately responded to a narrow set of questions from special counsel investigators.

It appears to be the beginning of the bitter end for Paul Manafort.
The Special Counsel's Office is going to file its sentencing memo for his criminal case in Virginia today, so we'll find out soon how much time Mueller wants Paul Manafort to spend in prison.

The white house have released the text of the proclamation declaring a national emergency at the southern border and invoking military construction authority under 10 USC 2808

https://publicpool.kinja.com/subject-presidential-...

Section 2808 requires not just an* national emergency declaration (whether the new one today or the existing internationall narcotics one), but specifically one that “requires the use of the armed forces.” That is the main point of litigation vulnerability.

The presidential finding that construction of sections of bollard fencing requires the use of the armed forces, when construction of identical infrastructure hasn’t previously, is one likely pressure point in a statutory challenge to Trump’s action.

So is this trump stealing money from the military?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who had previously opposed the president's moves, announced on the Senate floor Thursday the news that Trump would sign the deal, and that he would support an emergency declaration. on Friday, he, too, blamed Democrats.

“President Trump’s decision to announce emergency action is the predictable and understandable consequence of Democrats’ decision to put partisan obstruction ahead of the national interest," he said in a statement.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, in a joint statement issued just after the president's Friday announcement, said, "The President’s unlawful declaration over a crisis that does not exist does great violence to our Constitution and makes America less safe, stealing from urgently needed defense funds for the security of our military and our nation.

"This is plainly a power grab by a disappointed President, who has gone outside the bounds of the law to try to get what he failed to achieve in the constitutional legislative process," their statement continued. "The President's actions clearly violate the Congress’s exclusive power of the purse, which our Founders enshrined in the Constitution. The Congress will defend our constitutional authorities in the Congress, in the Courts, and in the public, using every remedy available. "

Hard to see how this could be seen as a win. He wanted $25bn for his wall, shutdown the government because he didn't get $5.7bn, was offered $1.6bn, now it looks like he's goign to have to accept $1.3bn.

Art of the deal indeed.
All he will see from that is "I've got $1.3 bn,yay me,I'm brilliant!", everything else is "fake nooz"
If anything, he won't mention the figure, he'll stand next to the bit of fencing being built for a photo op
He went with:
'I got 1.3bn. They didn't want to give me 1'.

Is Donnie watching House of Cards during his executive time?

His declaration of an emergency to secure funding for his wall is remarkably similar to Frank Underwood declaring an emergency to secure funding for his AmWorks initiative.

It was farcical in the television series too.

Thank goodness that the American people whose homes are threatened by this idiot's plan, and who have been utterly unsupported by the Republicans they voted for, are finally fighting back by suing the Govt.

Thats effectively life and taking much more of his assets away. You can see what some of team trump started uncontested divorce proceedings to secure assets.

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/0...

"Given the breadth of Manafort’s criminal activity, the government has not located a comparable case with the unique array of crimes and aggravating factors."

Judge Amy Berman Jackson: Manafort made "multiple clusters of false or misleading or incomplete or needed-to-be-prodded-by-counsel statements ... around the defendant's relationship or communications with Mr. Kilimnik. This is a topic at the undisputed core of" Mueller's probe.

"This is a problematic attempt to shield his Russian conspirator from liability and it gives rise to legitimate questions about where his loyalties lie."

"Manafort acted for more than a decade as if he were above the law, and deprived the federal government and various financial institutions of millions of dollars," Mueller's prosecutors wrote. "The sentence here should reflect the seriousness of these crimes."

"Manafort's age does not eliminate the risk of recidivism ... particularly given that his pattern of criminal activity has occurred over more than a decade and that the most recent crimes he pled guilty to occurred from Feb. to Apr. '18 ... when he was under indictment."

"Manafort's crimes were ... a result of his direct and willful conduct ... He simply chose not to comply with laws that would reduce his wealth ... In every scheme, Manafort was always the principal, and almost always the exclusive beneficiary.

"Manafort repeatedly violated the law ... Manafort chose to do this for no other reason than greed ... The sentence in this case must take into account the gravity of this conduct, and serve to both specifically deter Manafort and those who would commit" similar crimes.

What a Mueller Friday

A new filing from Mueller's office says, in the Russian hacker case, investigators executed search warrants on accounts used to "facilitate the transfer of stolen documents for release" and found interactions with Roger Stone and Guccifer 2.0 and WikiLeaks

Despite his protestations, Stones in deep trouble as well

Prosecutors said for the first time that they have evidence of Roger Stone communicating with WikiLeaks, according to a new court filing from special counsel prosecutors.

During its investigation of the Russian hack of the Democrats, "the government obtained and executed dozens of search warrants on various accounts used to facilitate the transfer of stolen documents for release, as well as to discuss the timing and promotion of their release," the prosecutors wrote Friday to a federal judge.
"Several of those search warrants were executed on accounts that contained Stone's communications with Guccifer 2.0 and with Organization 1," which is WikiLeaks.
