Oh so he was close then...

The more time goes on the more convinced I become that Trump needs to make it to 2020 rather than be removed by legal means. Removing him from the presidency or even putting him in jail won't make him go away, it will turn him in to a living martyr. At best a man whose delusions perpetuate division and at worst, if blood gets spilled then trouble may escalate.

Removing him during the stimulus phase of his tax cuts will do nothing but pour gas on the pyre of lies about him being good for the economy and allow him to build myth among the faithful of cult Trump. Better to leave him to own the economic downturn when it happens and have him removed by popular vote in 2020, because that is how you silence a narcissist.

One of the swamps America and Britain are facing is the Murdoch inspired cut taxes and blame outsiders meme that pollutes our information stream, in the long term it will make us stronger to watch that swamp fail in real time.

I don’t think the US will be able to sustain abother two years of ongoing damage being done by him being in position, given what is happening on a daily basis and it’ll take even longer to unravel and correct the issues.
I think he will just disappear from the limelight as he didn’t really expect to be POTUS in the first place.

This is just trump saying the world will burn without him, his own narcissism means he thinks the US can't do without him. He thinks the US economy will flop without him, there will be protests if he goes etc.

After Kushner was fined for the way he treated tenants in his buildings, it looks like Cohen did the same, trying to drive out tenants so he could raise the rent significantly.

Huge turnout for the democrats in Florida as Andrew Gillum is the first African American to win a major-party nomination for governor.

2018: 1,416,000+ voters
2014: 837,720
2010: 871,335
2006: 857,814

It'll be interesting to see what the school shooting protests have done to mobilise the young vote.

Blue wave is coming I am 99% sure of it. GOP will regret letting Trump be such a moron day in day out.

Other news overnight - Why is the president consulting with his personal criminal attorneys about firing the Attorney General?

Surely it would be silly to do it now? He's about to lose control in the mid terms, which means the Dems won't vote in a new Attorney General, especially as it promotes the deputy - Rosenstein whose in charge of the trump investigation.

Or as previously noted, Mueller has about a week left before the suggested 60 day deadline to not affect the midterms. Are there charges coming so trump is on another distraction by suggesting firing Sessions again?

That's a bit of stretch simply going by that article. Only one is mentioned as close Trump ally.

The fact that he’s the first African-American nomination for Governor says a lot about how US voters still see black people. I think part of the reason HRC didn’t win is because of backlash towards Obama.

This is where trump went to, tossing out paper towels and in October 2017, Trump said that Puerto Rico officials should be "proud" more haven't died like in "a real catastrophe like Katrina.
Reminded me of this video

Even Melania looks embarrassed when he starts pronouncing Puerto Rico like an idiot... laugh

Thanks, hadn't seen that before, I can't really see what difference it would have made if Bush had got to his feet a few minutes before he did, as for what the Donald's reaction would be in the same circumstances, the mind boggles
It was an interesting question, you reminded me I had wondered the same thing. It is still a vivid memory for me.

At that time I was working as a Software Engineer on a Digital TV service. We had monitoring stations in the corner to ensure the service was functioning. We had one tuned into the BBC world service and saw the second plane crash live, everyone in the office almost in unison said that's a replay. I think in hope, we could all see the other building burning in the same shot. We all knew it was a live satellite feed, it simply could not be a replay. At first even the BBC commentators was saying it's a replay. Despite the fact the other tower was afire in the same shot. It was just so incredible unexpected even watching live you couldn't believe it and at the back of your mind was the idea, this is the end of world.

At that point I sent txt message to everybody in my mobile saying "turn the news on now", I got quite few back asking "why?" At the time it was rare for offices to have internet access, never mind video and unknown on mobiles. I just couldn't explain it. All I could do was repeat the message with a prefixed "this is not a joke, turn the news on now."
We had Internet access in our office but the BBC's website had ground to a halt so we rigged up an indoor aerial to the videoconferencing telly to see what was going on.

Good point.

I can't stand Trump but that doesn't mean I'm blind to hyperbole or falsehoods about him. In fact, they are more glaring to me, because you simply don't need to fabricate things about Trump. He gives you all the ammunition you could ever ask for.

Bykers post obviously made more sense with the question mark and he was quick to acknowledge that.

I think that's going to happen, although after the mid-terms he'll be pretty powerless.

Even if convicted, the Senate still needs to vote to remove the sitting president which has no precedent and even his most ardent adversaries are afraid of setting one.

Besides, his trial may drag on for another 2 years anyway. Perhaps deliberately so he can be jailed after leaving office.

I see it as the Dems and politicians in general need to start doing the RIGHT thing even if its not the best time.

Absolutely the right thing is to pursue Trump for potential high crimes and misdemeanors. Chase Junior/Eric/Ivanka and Jared for their part in violating the emoluments clause/Lying to the Fbi & any possible ties to collusion.
If guilty nail the whole lot of them to the mast. Show them for what they are and any martyrdom goes out the window.

Then dig into the bent political enablers. Devin Nunes , Paul Ryan , Lindsay Graham et al.

"Let justice be done though the heavens fall". The whole rotten system needs a clean.
