The White House Lawyer Don McGahn is stepping down

Did he fall or was he pushed?
If was pushed he'd be out immediately you'd imagine. That doesn't seem to be the case.

He also says he still expects to work for Trump and voices an opinion on his successor.

Of course he is. That's what demagogues do.

If he's being sacked for not toeing the line on things like pardoning Manafort, or not doing what he's told, Trump would make a song and dance about firing him immediately. And be talking st on twitter about it.

Why would Trump keep him around for the time being? That's not in his nature or track record.

Trump warning of violence if Dems win mid terms.
He is effectively endorsing an armed civil war if the Dems win.

Completely irresponsible
To be 100% fair, he's not advocating civil war, he said that the Democrats will act violently. He's trying to scare voters with non existent threats

Orange Tit quoted on the BBC said:
"It's not a question of like or dislike, it's a question that they [The Democrats] will overturn everything that we've done and they will do it quickly and violently. And violently."
So like anything Trump says, we can safely assume the opposite will happen.

Trump does and says enough stupid things that we don't need to exaggerate any of them smile

Pence is really keeping his head down. Can't remember the last time I saw him and Trump pictured together. Is he biding his time until the legal problems get too big for Trump?

I wonder if/when his team will quietly see if there's enough political support to allow them to throw Trump under an impeachment bus. Maybe if the mid-terms are bad enough?

The smart people among the Republicans must know that Trump's base has nowhere else to go.
He was sat right there the other day as Trump demonstrated his inability to use a telephone.

Trump is the enemy of the people. It's time he understood this.

If trump gets impeached, will Pence just pardon him and he doesn't go to jail?

Could they hold off until the 2020 elections hoping that a democrat gets elected, then charge him and stick him in jail and hope the new Democrat president may not pardon him? hehe

Unfortunately a fantasy. He'll appeal endlessly using every lawyer in the US who will still work for him to avoid jail.

I thought you can't endlessly appeal in US though?

He may even find a good lawyer, eventually. Because Christ knows Cohen and Giuliani are pretty ropey.

He does realise that most of the news orgs use the same anonymous sources, even his favorite Fox News.

Unbelievable...

That's from the man who used to call journalists pretending to be a 'John Barron' who would sing Trump's praises and exaggerate his wealth.

He still denies this despite their being tapes of it and him calling his son Barron...

No, he's not.
have to agree - from what I can tell these were private remarks meant to whip his evangelical supporters into action.

Still though, very clumsily chosen words, and suggesting that the democrats are somehow associated with violent anti fascists is bullst, but then, Trump.

This is the guy that admitted the access hollywood tapes were him, but later said they weren't and someone should look into his voice being faked.

He's absolutely shameless.

He says this, then immediately confirms the report in the media that mcgahn was quitting.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
White House Counsel Don McGahn will be leaving his position in the fall, shortly after the confirmation (hopefully) of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. I have worked with Don for a long time and truly appreciate his service!

McGahn didn't even know that trump was going to announce this departure.
McGahn's reaction was, "Of course it happened this way."
